Hi VOH...I have been where you are in depression, it was part of the mental illness I had for over 30 years before I was saved by the grace of God...One thing I have noticed since God saved me 2 years ago is that all sins from my past that I have repented for, the devil every now and then will bring one up and throw me into despair, it will cause my mind to go back to that sin and make me believe that it is still deep rooted and I have not confessed it properly to God ...

The truth of the matter is, I have now become aware of this trap, and I thank God for reminding me that I have been washed by the blood of our LORD Jesus Christ...These dark memories of ours are remembered no more by God, like toinena said below, when we are weak in this area of depression, the devil will find the crack and zoom in...

We must lift up our shield and fight against the arrows of the wicked one, we do not have to go searching for anything deep rooted unless it is God leading us to search ourselves , God is our Father of Light, dont go over what you have already revealed to our LORD, keep on keeping on forward, there is nothing behind you that is any use to you, for you are a new creation in Christ :)...xox...
Thanks theres allot here to think about GBU

When the Spirit of God comes He does not give us visions, He tells us to do the most ordinary things conceivable. Depression is apt to turn us away from the ordinary commonplace things of God’s creation, but whenever God comes, the inspiration is to do the most natural simple thing – the things we would never have imagined God was in, and as we do them we find He is there. The inspiration which comes to us in this way is an initiative against depression; we have to do the next thing and do it in the inspiration of God. If we do a thing in order to overcome depression, we deepen the depression; but if the Spirit of God makes us feel intuitively that we must do the thing, and we do it, the depression is gone. Immediately we arise and obey, we enter on a higher plane of life.

"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28).

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." (John 14:27).

I’m sorry about you are going through. Even in the deepest darkness there’s always hope. Please, it is a hard situation that you are living now, but do not feel discourage. Hang it there!! Please do not give up! Have you considered to seek Christian therapy? Therapy can help you to identify what are the roots of the things that make you feel depressed. Sometimes we bring wounds, some traumas from our families. We need to work on those wounds with a therapist to forgive, to reconcile them and to understand ourselves better. When we accept that we have something that depression is the first step to change and heal. If you need someone in your area please let me know. I can help you to find someone near you. In that way you could start a new chapter in your life and you will see the difference and the impact that this will have in yourself. I know from my experiences that sometimes we do not know how to handle suffering. Suffering is neither good nor bad. And if we embrace it we can allow our transformation into a better person. And for the other, in despise of this situation as a Christian I believe God made you in His image and that you are important and valuable person and you are a person of dignity and respect. You may be have a hard time believing this, but that doesn’t disqualify you from being love and valued for exactly who you are. Maybe you can take out good of this situation that you have to deal with. Let me tell you please that you are not alone in this battle Dear Lord I ask you for this your daughter Vessel of Honour that You deliver her from depression. She wants that you take the control of this situation and You give her lights how to overcome this. She asks You direction, guidance that all the things that she needs to change. You are Father, very generous and merciful God. You are a God that never abandon us. And you say in Your Sacred Word that you hear a humble and repented heart. That’s why we invoke Your loving presence and with Your loving hand can bring healing over your loving daughter Vessel of Honour. We ask for the merits of your childhood, in Jesus Name. Amen. Keep us – posted please, OK
