2 days on the road and in the sky gives one time to think and reflect. Which led me to this conclusion.

I read in the Bible about how all humanity is fallen and cursed, yet despite that God loves every single one of us. I assume that implies that even the worst scumball dirtbag among us is still loved by God, and because of that deserves at least a modicum of respect. Yet when I mention these thoughts I am told that I am stupid, an idiot, a moron with no understanding of the issues. And that scumball dirtbags deserve to die in the most disrespectful way possible, without even an ounce of mercy.

I read in the Bible about how we are not to seek after riches. I try to follow that by being prudent but generous with our money. We have what we need to be comfortable, when we need more it seems to appear to meet the need. I believe that beyond that we should not horde it but use it to help others who deserve housing and food and medical care, among other things. I believe employers should pay honest workers a wage that allows them to acquire these things on their own. Yet when I share these thoughts, again I am told that I am stupid, an idiot, a moron with no understanding of the issues. That I should instead be using the money on speculative investments in the goal of padding our bank account. And that everyone else should just fend for themselves without anyone's help. That indeed, if they need help they must be lazy and sponging off others and don't deserve to be healthy fed and protected.

I read in the Bible how God wants us to bear fruit, and that He has given us specific gifts to help produce that fruit. Yet when I talk about using the gifts today I am once again told that I am stupid, an idiot, a moron with no understanding of the issues. And even worse that I have a demon.

It seems that maybe I am stupid, a moron, without understanding and possessed. So many people seem to think I am.

So please pray that God gives me wisdom and understanding - oops there I go again, wanting after things that no longer exist. D@m demon.

My head is so spun...

Maybe just pray that God make me a little less stupid and a little less possessed.

My friend you are not wrong or broken.
Paul said

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18

You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
James 4:4

So the wisdom of God is eternal, the wisdom of this world doomed.
Jesus said He would give us wisdom is we ask

For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?
Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
Luke 11:10-13

Dear Lord, support this brother and encourage him to lean on your word and believe it
as it is your revelation to the heart of man to find the Father, Amen

It's far better to give your money away, and that is the most tricky thing to grasp. As you give abundantly to others, God gives abundantly to you, but only if it is in sincere faith.

To put it bluntly, compare what "help" you are giving, when compared with the help the people who learned how to accumulate wealth are able to give. Numbers don't lie. If you can only feed a few of the hungry people in your city... what happens to the rest if more affluent people don't shoulder the majority of the load? I think we know. They wouldn't get fed.

it's always best to start your charity with those in your immediate family whose needs
that you know of and can make a difference through providing the charity that you
know that they truly need - after doing this, a new and very important door will
be opened to you and your wife, and Christ will show you yet another way to express
your heart's desire...

never give a care what the carnal world thinks, for their thoughts are the devil's thoughts
and ways...

If Abraham had not had money (in a big way), he never would have had 318 fighting men in his employ, and could not have saved his nephew, Lot. Poor ol' Lot and his whole household would have been up the creek without a paddle.

I guess this is why I like the term for myself "smart idiot" because I stay determined to do right for God and stick to a future I believe, where as others will tell plenty of us that love God/Jesus and actually want to "have a life" that we are "wasting our time" or "foolish" while they rot and curse until they pass away and are so called"happy" don't fret over it,take it as a compliment, for to suffer for God/Jesus name sake is a good thing.
(hope I get the facts clearer this time around)
Father God please help Rickyz through enduring the wicked words that are thrust toward him and help him to be wise and grow spiritually,in Jesus's holy name I pray,AMEN.

Wow Willie, see what I mean? I can't even get giving in right. I came to your side of the camp and you still think I'm wrong.

See now, here's my sick mind at work. Since you said this (or more correctly since I read it ) Mark 12 has been running thru my head....

41Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.43Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

But we all know that's a bald faced lie right? That Jesus was out to lunch and the truth is He should have said 'thank God for all the rich people because that poor old woman is fooling herself if she thinks her penny is worth anything".

I mean, what kind of idiot fool puts stock in Christ's words?

You're certainly not a stupid moron Ricky. You're managing your finances the way the Holy Spirit leads you. There's nothing wrong with that at all. God may indeed give you more wisdom and understanding. That
would be something that all of us could use. You're on the right spiritual path, that's for sure. I will pray for you.

Thank you tourist, I'll take every prayer I can get.

But Willie's right. If we took that leftover $100 dollars at the end of the month, and put it in stock with Goldman Sachs instead of with the old lady and her two pennies, then once we're fat and happy we can have a bigger pile o cash to drop at the temple door. No, Willie's right, the math adds up. Kinda sucks for the food bank we were going to support at the end of this month, but hey - wink - we'll getcha double next year.

So c'mon Willie, edumacate me here. What's a good stock to feed? Obviously GS is going to be a little out of our price range. Amazon, Google, Apple ... wow I did miss the boat on a lot of this. I confess my sins and repent of my ways Willie .... what on earth can I do now at this late stage of the game to redeem myself to the market? Or are we already doomed to be cast into the eternal lake of sufficiency?

the closer we draw to Jesus, the more intimate He abides within us -
The Holy Spirit will always guide us where, when and how to serve'
and give' -
no doubt this is a never ending river, but we must follow His instructions
to the t'...else our giving would be in vain..

it's not about accumulating, it about 'giving', as Christ taught all
throughout the OT and the NT...

being a 'good steward' in all things is quite a learning process, at any age...

And that's why God teaches us:

Colossians 3:23 And whatever you do, do it with all your heart as unto the Lord, and not to men.

The flesh is never satisfied. People (our flesh) will always find fault in others because it's easier than judging ourselves.

RickyZ, Next time you are on a drive & looking at the blue sky with time to think....Here are so words of Wisdom which always has a beautiful way of bringing clarity & peace within ones soul & spirit.
Christ Crucified Is God’s Power and Wisdom
1 Corinthians
18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”
[SUP]c[/SUP]

20Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
26Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him. 30It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”[SUP]d[/SUP]

From reading your post I see that you do seem to love your neighbor. Loving your neighbor along with God is what the New testament of Christ is all about.
Doing so, you complete all that is required of you. That along with some humility and you are on the right path.
God bless.

You are not any of these things. Whomever is telling you that you are, is being very mean and disrespectful. Fill your mind with thoughts about who you are in Christ. And to make real to you the truth of Scripture. People called Jesus bad names too and said bad things about him that were not true. More than once people called him possessed. In life you are going to have people who respect you and others who don't. You speak with wisdom. I can see that in your opening post.

Thank you all, you are all so kind. I am appreciative but not worthy of your concern.

But where's Willie? C'mon man, you can't argue a case to someone then abandon them when they agree to it. I needs some guidance here. You know, like how to turn this old man's two pennies into a pile o cash at the temple door?
