Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers!
He went to the hospital for his persistent cough and inability to swallow. He aspirated while he was there. This compounded the issues from the pneumonia they said he did not have and they induced coma and incubated him to help with his breathing to which he agreed to. Feeding tubes, IV fluids and antibiotics came with it. He was showing signs of improvement . So they suggested to remove the apparatus' giving us the understanding that he was going to choke and aspirate again. In other words if he was going to eat and breathe without issues leave the stuff in.
He did not wake up fully, can't eat, and still needs oxygen induced. He has a DNR and a living will in which we are honoring. So a feeding tube and IV are not an option anymore. He is being made comfortable.
