My husband and I are both Christians, but he is extremely emotionally needy, I think. There is constant criticism about how I don't pay him enough attention, I don't touch him enough, the expression on my face is wrong, he doesn't like what I'm wearing, etc. Constant criticism and complaining. He can worship God with such fervor, and then turn around and be so angry with me
over nothing. How can this be? It seems such a conflict to me I can't count the number of times
I have cried over this. I have tried talking to him about it, but he just blows up and says I'm too sensitive, and I'm the one who's critical of him, and he can't say anything without my complaining.
What are some good, Christian responses to his behavior? I don't want to respond with anger
and criticism of my own but I want to assert myself enough to show him he needs to respect me.
How do I do this? Any help is appreciated!

You know theres me and mom too Love never fails Christ describesHis desire we have love even when not returned to us,, I get the joy of really crying in my heart FOR my mom as Christ really wants and seeing so much in her in return Dont listen to the Enemy This world IS a painful pLace ANDhrist has preared that narrow path of REAL blessing if you leave "it all" for Him foreign mission Private life of prayer and the bible taking time only to go out and witness. I prayed about this and for me to STAY and "Honor my Mother" with watchful prayers and if need be ;tears to Heaven Jesus Christ IS The Way and so I continue to trust ,listen realhard, and follow You are Loved

It sounds like your husband has some kind of deep hurt in his heart.
His actions are more about controll than critisizm.
Controll because of fear of injury in heart happening again.
Can you talk to yur pastor or a christian councilor?
Pray that the whole healing in Jesus Christ is Lord ill fill both of you as one in Jesus.
I will be praying daily, that the healing of Jesus will fill both of your hearts in Jesus.
Hugs and God bless.

Im praying for you, may your husband become a proverbs husband and love you into a better woman. I pray that he deals with the underlying issues and can speak only words that will lift you and your family up. Jesus can do all things.

I'm not sure of the entire context of the relationship. I know we're warned against believing one side of a story before hearing the other. Sometimes it takes two to tango, and sometimes it's only one person at fault. So very hard to speak directly in to the situation without much light on it.

But I'll do my best.

You can seek emotional strength by crying out to God and seeking emotional refuge in Him.

Psalm 17
8 Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings
9 from the wicked who are out to destroy me,
from my mortal enemies who surround me.

Remember God is there always to go to for grace and mercy in your time of need.

Hebrews 4

16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

If you're feeling broken hearted God is there for you.

Psalm 147:3
3 He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.

You may feel alone in this situation. You're not alone in feeling alone.

Psalm 102
7 I lie awake; I have become
like a bird alone on a roof.
8 All day long my enemies taunt me;
those who rail against me use my name as a curse.
9 For I eat ashes as my food
and mingle my drink with tears
10 because of your great wrath,
for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.
11 My days are like the evening shadow;
I wither away like grass.

Re: Give this to our Almighty Lord Jesus and relax !!!

Dear Sister Jaeylynn, it sounds like your husband may have an undiscovered, or unadmited problem with his relationship with our Lord Jesus. One of the first signs of a Christian is respect and compasion for others. It is directly commanded that we must respect our spouses. I suggest that you pray that God will cast out all evil, negative, doubting spirits, from your husband, heal him physically, mentally, spiritually and convict him of the damage he is doing to you and your marriage, I pray the same in Jesus name, Amen.

The next time you are at church, go up and talk to your pastor and explain the problem. Ask him to talk to your husband. See if you can get your husband to go to family counciling.

I pray that once you have given this problem to our Lord, He will grant you peace, tranquility and joy !!!

Have a wonderful day in Jesus,
may the sun shine upon your face today and show you flowers of such beauty, that you must be filled with overwhelming joy !!!

Love in Jesus
