sometimes I feel discourage. what can one person do in the larger scheme of things? why do we work and strive to do God's will in this world when no one seems to care or listen?

I don't know the whole debate of spiritual gifts and their existence is wearying on my faith that we can actually make a difference. I always thought prophecy was speaking the future into other people's lives.

My husband says I'm a dreamer and I guess there is some truth to that. I look at the kids every day at high school and see so much potential so much they could do with their lives and how they could use their innate talents to help and serve God if they but tried and applied themselves.

I try to see them as they are but encourage them to dream higher then they are currently thinking. let them see that they could do more then work at Mcdonald's encourage them to think and dream bigger then their backyard's move past their fear.

Its like a prayer that if I speak the prophecy of hope into their lives they will think about it and if God sends others to add more water to the seed that He planted (that they are precious and worth something for GOD made them unique and wonderful knitting their very souls and cells together) Eventually they will grow into mature healthy plants that will bear the Fruits of the Spirit:

Love, Joy, Peace, patience, kindness, self control, etc.

Peace of the Lord be with all of you.

sometimes I just get discouraged when the kids just don't seem to care and just stop dreaming and trying.

So if you would pray for them, that God will be merciful and place the seed of grace and hope in their hearts and minds and help them make choices they won't regret later. Help them to see past today and their past failures and dream of the future and help them work towards the future that God's wants them to have?

World Domination, is my dream. Failing that Ill settle for being remembered, either for great deeds or horrific ones.

To change the world you need to make more of an impact than those around you, you need to rise past what others see and make them see the world the way you see the world, the way you want the world to be .

I want the world to be the way God meant it to be, without sickness, sin, evil, greed selfishness, etc. Maybe if one person at a time decides to dream the same dream.....

Amanda, as another told me when I was discouraged, it is Jesus that brings the heart and faith, it is His work.
We are simply the servants.
Do not be discouraged, Jesus brings the truth to all hearts, and makes it grow, we just plant the seeds. :)
You are in my prayers in Jesus.

@ AnandaHya and Pickles...thanks for being the roses among the thorns in this thread.

Its always nice to see those willing to look for the silver lining instead of just accepting the storm cloud.

I don't find much use for negativity...so thanks ladies for speaking your dreams, and placing possitive thoughts into places where people feel is necesary to speak things that are purly unhelpful.

Amen Ananada, pickles, and grace. AMEN AMEN! I thought of this when I read this Anandahya:

Don't be discouraged, you like us all have recieved grace from God, now, like us all you are an agent for His grace.

The Parable of the Growing Seed

26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
