I am a single man who needs prayer for restoration, healing and deliverance from "every man's battle" I have been dealing with for 15 years now brought on by terrible unclean thoughts. I been been feeling ashamed, defeated, trapped, discouraged, self condemned, guilty, worthless, unfaithful, depressed and oppressed because I keep committing this sin against God even after asking God for forgiveness, help and deliverance. I've prayed time and time again for God to grant me a true repentant heart. Due to the terrible habit, I feel like I am not truly repenting before God regarding this sin.

I've been daily reading the word and spending time in prayer, but I keep on falling into willful sin even after asking God to renew my heart and my mind.
I've begged and pleaded with God many times to take this struggle away from me, but I keep falling regardless making me feel distant from God in my prayers.

We are taught by Paul that once we receive Jesus Christ we no longer sin, however sin that dwells in us does. "It is no longer I who sin, rather it is sin that dwells in me." This is by no means an excuse to continue in sin, however should one slip, even continuously, it is no longer that person. Perhaps if you reread the story of David and Bathsheba, then read what David had to say to God about his terrible acts, you will be edified and truly encouraged to continue in faith. David's repentence is recorded in Psalm 51. Jesus declared "I desire mercy and not sacrifice." I would never judge you or condemn you, and I am nowhere near as loving as is our blessed Lord, Jesus Christ.

I pray with all that you be comforted, edified, and totally strengthened in the total confidence of faith, hope and love. Always in Jesus Christ's name, amen.

Brother, I pray to the Father that you are delivered from this bondage, because it is exactly that.
There's a couple things you want to always keep in your mind before you start to fight this battle to completely end this.

1. God is your creator. He designed your body with a purpose, though after the fall of man we seem to seek to corrupt our bodies with anything and anyone when we walked according to our flesh.

2. God is your savior. The creator of the universe was the same one who took our place at the cross to keep us away from the punishment of our natural lawlessness. Not only did He save us from the consequence of sin, which is eternal separation from God, but He also saved us from the power of it in our lives. And once we find ourselves in His presence when we are absent from this body, we will also be saved from the presence of sin.

3. It was because of our sin that the body of our Lord Jesus Christ was scourged, beaten, and crucified. It was sin that separates us from God, before we accept Christ and in our relationship with Him. When we are walking in sin we are rejecting the power of God to fully work in our lives and His will to be done as He would please to do so.

4. It is impossible to overcome sin with our own strength, but it is also impossible for a person to ask for God's power in their lives until they realize that we must be completely dependent on Him for everything, even for the air we breathe and for the blood that circulates in our veins.

5. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that you will ever overcome any sin. To do this you must realize in your mind, heart, soul and body that any sin that we practice is harmful to all 4, but most of all, it goes against the nature of God and we were called to be conformed to His image.

*So now that you've got all this knowledge it is time to apply it:

-In your mind every minute remember these things, put them in your heart, put His word in your heart. Remember that He is your Father if you have truly accepted Him as your savior. Ask Him to heal you through His power.
-Do the best you can to keep yourself away from any unwanted situation in which you can fall to be tempted. Remember that God cannot tempt any man. It is us that are tempted by our own desires. But if we put God in the place where He belongs, which is first place, then our desires will be to please Him in all that we think, say, do,feel, eat, drink.
-Lastly and most important of all, live according to the will of the Father. Which is to live Holy and without blemish before Him. Ask God to give you a heart of worship. A heart that wants to obey Him because He has loved us and is worthy of it. He created us and chose us out of many nations. It is a privilege to claim to be forgiven by the blood of Christ. God will hear your cry if you have come to Him with a humble heart that is willing to be shaped by His power.

*Forsake it all for Christ just like He forsook it all for us. He is worthy of being worshipped with our obedience, love, faith, bodies, hearts, minds and souls. Lay your treasure in His presence where no one can take it. Do not worship creation which will perish, but worship Him who will never die and who has,is, and will reign for all eternity.

God bless you!
