Basically, I really don't have much of a problem with shyness anymore. Though I never really learned normal basic social skills. So it's still hard for me to make friends and stuff...

Once I was at a seminar, the speaker was funny, interesting, entertaining, absolutely fantastic not only in content but delivery. I am an observer so I watched him stay after talking with students answering questions... After all of the crowd left he walked over to a man near to me, I listened to him for the next hour talk to a man that was giving him feedback on his presentation from start to finish. When they were walking out the speaker joked with his public speaking instructor/evaluator. "That he spent more time preparing, evaluating and reworking his public speaking skills then he actually spent using them." His evaluator just smiled and reminded him to "watch, listen and respond to his audiance and he would be successful."

Learning anything new requires practice. Put yourself into situations where you have to use the skills you want to hone. Do you have a friend either male or female that can evaluate the "practice" and give you honest feedback.

Good luck.
