My neighbours and my sanity!!

Okay, so I have been having endless ongoing problems with my neighours ever since they moved in almost 2 years ago.

I'll try to sum it up in a 'nutshell' for you all...

Basically the guy that lives next door is an alcoholic. He drinks from dawn to dusk. As a result of this he is agressive,violent and well just rude!

There is a woman (Ithink she is his ex-wife) who doesn't live at the house, but is always there. She comes over purely to drink and fight with him. Sometimes she will stand on the front lawn screaming obscenities at him until he lets her in...then the screaming, swearing, throwing furniture will continue on for 5 or 6 hours until the wee hours of the morning.

My concern is not only the noise and agression, but also for the teenage daughter that lives in the house. Her father in his drunken state will drive her to school each day. I worry for her safety (she has even run away afew times) and I worry for the safety of ther innocent people on the road. We have tried contacting the Police, but that only made things worse.

Now the neighbour is doing everything in his power to bother us. He will come over and scream and swear at my husband for mowing the lawn at 5pm because it 'disturbs'his afternoon game-show viewing.

Yesterday there were small children at the house (Ithink his grandchildren) and while the 'adults' were inside the house at night (between6-7pm) these children were running up the HIGHWAY!! So I went outside and asked the little girl who is maybe 3ish to get off the street and go back inside. The neighbour then came out and abused me with foul language and threats to 'bash my head in'.

I'm ashamed to say I lost my temper and screamed back at him. Then after I broke down in tears from the stress of it all. I simply cannot deal with this anymore! I've been more than patient for nearly 2 years now.

I would ask please for prayers for guiadance in how to handle the situation, for my sanity (and my husbands) and for my neighbours. I want to be a Christian example in this situation, but I struggle with sittng by and saying nothing while he continues to allow children and others to be put in harms way.

So that's pretty much it. I'm at the end of my tether. If you could please pray for this situation it would be greatly appreciated.

Two things I would recommend are calling the child welfare department in your state if there are children in dangerous situations, and, if possible, which it may not be, find a new house! It may seem like leaving would be backing down, but if your sanity's on the line!!!!!! it might be worth it...

There are just some things you can't do on your own, that need lots of backing from prayer partners!!

Hi I do understand so much. I am going through the same problems! We have had to move our bed 6 times in order to get a good nights sleep, also we have had lack of sleep etc. Its terrible. I am now living of a prayer that the houisng gives me a house across the road that is becoming vacant. I know what stalking behavoir is like also. When ever we switch off our lights for bed, thats when they start to bang doors loudly. I have been like this for 3 years now. I pray that you get help and also myself.
