I am a 29 year old female and I have been masturbating since I was about 13 years. I never grew up in a christian home and did not even realize that I was committing a sin. However I recently decided to give my life to christ and one day about three months ago the holy spirit spoke to me telling me that masturbation is wrong and that I was sinning. I also learnt that it can stop me from enjoying sexual pleasures with my husband. I have since cried out to God to break the chains of masturbation from my life. But I am still masturbating. Not as frequently as before. But I still have the addiction and I really want to overcome it in Jesus name. I want to enjoy the sexual life that my God has for me with my future husband.

Hello, and welcome to CC. You are fighting against fleshly desires. Keep listening to the Holy Spirit, He will bring you closer to God. Ask God to help you with your self-control.

Thank you. I keep praying to God to help me, but I am still falling to it. And I feel guilty afterwards. I feel as if God is upset with me. I feel as if I would never overcome this.

Hi there, masturbation is a real thing, I know. It allows us to live in the moment, it allows for a relief, it is a chemical reaction in our brain that causes the addiction. Chemicals are released into our blood stream, that makes us feel good. This is why the Lord created love making, it allows us to really connect with the person.

Also masturbation is just so easy, you don't need to consider anybody but yourself, which in my lifestly can be seriously addictive, throughout the day I am having to think about other's their needs, before my own, and quite frankly sometimes it is easy just to want the thrill of it all by yourself.

For me the act of masturbation is not the sin, it is where my mind goes in order to have the orgasim which is the sinful part. The Lord makes meantion in the word of a man rather spilling his own seed, that going to a prostitue. I have been married for many years, and still was having the ocassional masutrbation, and would tell my husband about it. The sin for us was the fact that I had made him feel left out, I had not considered his feelings, I then had no desire to be with my husband which meant he was unfufilled.

I want to prise you for doing it less, I want to encourage you to speak to the Lord in every wakeing moment, tell Him what your fear's are, ask Him to show you what it is about the masturbation you are craving any cannot find elsewhere. Please do not beat yourself over the head, the Lord doesn't, He wants to encourage you to find the answer which is in Him.

Dan 1v8: 'But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself...' with 1Cor 10v13, 2Cor 12v9, Heb 4v15, 7v25

Get close to the Lord Jesus via prayer, resist the temptation (and continue to resist even when you feel it is impossible to and that awful feeling will eventually go), the Grace of God enabling you to do so, remember that the Lord Jesus is interceding for you every second of every day...

Do NOT condemn yourself because you have this issue, you WILL overcome it in Jesus! 1John 1v7

Living4Jesus,
The fact that you have made the choice to live for Jesus shows him how badly you want and need him in your life. The fact that you are masturbating less is testimony to allowing him to work in your life. No one has ever said that being a christian a living the life is easy we still struggles and we all face evil. We just learn through our growing and strenthening faith how to over come evil and not let evil take hold of us. I am confident that if you continue to pray especially when you "feel the urge" you will over come this too because now that you have invited God into your life he will never leave you.

Know that he still loves you even though you have this problem, but he does want you to stop because this habbit that you have does not glorify his name. Keep praying and keep the faith...you will be in my prayers.

Excuse me.... I think this is the most disgusting topic to be put in public.
It should be discussed in private. Do you not see this as something unfit
for men and women to discuss together ? If the Poster is having problems
it should be on their own gender group.

Good grief would someone take this person under their wing and give
her scriptures in private please. You already have one guy on here
telling her it is okay.. You are leading many into thinking thoughts of
sexual nature on a mixed gender group.

Please clean this up.

Eph. 5: …11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatever does make manifest is light. …

Struggled with this sin for many years. I believe the only way to beat this addictive sin or any addictive sin AFTER accepting Jesus as your Lord and savior is to DAILY feed the Spirit. We can only feed the flesh OR the Spirit. DAILY prayer, DAILY Bible reading, DAILY fellowship with other, more mature Christians is the ONLY way to stop. As long as you are on this earth in your fleshly body Satan will never give up on trying to make you stumble. Put on the WHOLE armor of God. May the Lord help you in this struggle. In Jesus name. Amen.

Quite simply if YOU don't like the topic in this thread DON'T read it!

The girl needs HELP with it, NOT someone like YOU coming in and posting this kind of UNHELPFUL rubbish! :p

I agree with you jb. I am ready to log off and came over to apologize to her. If you
knew the people who do things like this on Christian sites, who are not really doing it
for help, but for shock value, you would understand where I was coming from. But, if
she really wants help, this topic should be taken to a private message and then she can
talk openly. I could help her, I have been there. But, I am not about to share my sins
openly and there is a time and place for that type of help. An open forum is just not it.
Thank you for taking up for her, and I will check back tomorrow and see if anyone has
been able to help her. Follow up is good. ~ May the Lord give you wisdom. Amen
