Hi everyone,

I'm VERY nervous, I have to take a math test for college. I was a student there in 2006. However, they need me to do a math test for some reason. So I do that when I'm ready, then I'll go and register for college on Dec.15. Then I start classes on Jan. 6, 2010.

The issue, I'm so afraid I won't get a good enough score as I'm so bad at math.

They offer refresher classes, so I can take that and be accepted, basically I can't be turned away, because my other scores are so high.

The other issue, the cost. I have hope grant, and pell grant. However pell grant no longer covers what hope doesn't on books, you pay out of pocket, then pell gives you a check for said amount back after the quarter has started. I'm not sure if or how I'll get the money I need. I can't do a student loan, I don't have a job at the time.

I've been so stressed, I'm at peace in a way, but still stressed.I have to go to college, or I'll never make it in the world. No one hires you without a college education. Luckily, I'll only have three classes, and I can be done in one quarter. Around 3-4 months or so.

Please help me pray that God provides a way, I KNOW He will, for He provides all our needs.

Thanks and God bless.

You are in my prayers. My hubby went back to collage when we had 4 of our children. We survived on the pell grant and faith, so I understand what you are going through. All finished well and he recieved his degree. So you are very much in my prayers for this. God bless, pickles

If I may, relax and be willing to take whatever course is necessary for your level of skill. I teach math at a very large college and daily see people who for whatever reason placed out of the refresher courses when they really shouldn't have. They struggle for four, five years with math and never really learn anything because they were unwilling to go back and rebuild the foundation.

You're in good company if you're anxious about it. You don't have to be, though. :)

Thanks to both of you so much. I'm calmer than I thoght I'd be lol. Is just like, okay deep breath, you CAN do this. I just hoe I have a different mat teacher this time. Last time it was so self-paced/self-taught it was unreal. He NEVER taught anything, you studied on your own, did test on your own, etc. I mean he wouldn't even exlain things when you needed help. If he did, it was for certin pepole, and he would go so fast you couldn't understand. So I'll look at my choices, and hope and pray someone besides him will offer the class. Thanks again, and God bless.

I got a letter the other day, I don't have to take a math test. I'm just going to take my math class, then go back another quarter, and take my other ones. I'm officially accepted as a student. I go on the 11th to register...so I pay my technology fee, and select what day and time I want to take my math class.
