Well, the first one failed. I cancelled it on Halloween... how fitting, eh? So the second one will begin on Tuesday but today, I found out that in the past, youth groups and youth leaders had some "history." As a result, many of the young adults even left the church. I don't mind if the regulars don't show up. I invited the regulars first - I didn't open it up to the entire congregation but only a couple people responded at the last minute. Everyone else simply ignored my invitation. So, I opened up the invitation to the entire church for all people to hear for two Sundays in a row. The first meet is on Tuesday and it would be great if someone could pray that God will move hearts and bring some people to the first meet. I would happy even if only one or two new people to the church show up. It would be fantastic!

I myself can also use some prayers. To be honest, I felt a little ticked and though I probably shouldn't, I can't help but parallel this to the parable of the king inviting guests to his feast. The king invited all his subjects - his people to a grand feast at his palace. When the day of the feast came, the guests couldn't come. They made excuses and the king became furious. He told his servants to go out and invite all the poor, needy, and destitute to his feast and to bar those who he had originally invited from attending. I know I shouldn't be comparing things like this but I can't help it - those people didn't even grace me with a "no thank-you" email which is why I opened the invitation to the entire congregation.

Anyway, could use the prayers. I re-invited the regulars all the same because it's probably the right thing to do.

Thanks! I am choosing a "question" for Tuesday to present on Sunday. Stuck though... I don't know if I should choose "What does it mean to be a sleeping Christian? How far do we need to go to 'wake up?'" or something more heavy duty like "Unanswered prayers?"

(Our church is located in a particularly wealthy neighbourhood, hence the sleeping Christian topic.)

They all sound good. We live in a fairly wealthy area, although im not wealthy. The interesting thing though is there is alot of abuse. Self abuse, alchohol, drug. It seems that although many have all they want they are truelly unhappy. Most of the kids I talked to never said much because well they should be greatful. But in truth because of having all they want they never knew what they needed. A sort of having everything but lost about what they needed. It really shows how being poor has its advantages.
I keep all in my prayers. Some times the happyest are the hardest to reach.

Hmmm, that is an interesting point - I never thought of that but it is definitely true. I will look for more topics on that.

Well, I did that. There were only the 3 of us this Tuesday but on the bright side, the discussion was really good. I was shocked at the end of the discussion that the topic itself actually helped someone - he is going through a tough time and the topic gave him a fresh perspective. So, though the group was teeny tiny, a positive difference was made in someone's life. I'm very happy about that and could hardly keep it to myself. ^.^ Thanks for the prayer!
