A family member is dying. He has cancer and it's terminal and the long days are spent waiting by his wife and children. The prayers are no more for healing, but a peaceful passing. I've been asked to write eulogy for a man not yet dead and a funeral service not yet designed. I ask for prayers for this family and this hardship and that our loving God of Israel guide my heart and hand. Thank you -

Father, I pray that You will be with family and friends during this time. I pray that Your peace would reign in this home. I pray that Your presence with them will serve as a tremendous testimony and that You will be glorified.

Kenthomas, we are not meant to understand why some people get deadly diseases and others dont. I know God heard everyone's prayers for healing for your family member, but he has a much better plan in store for him/ her. No matter how great we think OUR plans are, God's plans always win in the end!! :) I pray that your loved one will have a peaceful, painless passing over into God's kingdom where there is no pain, no sickness. He or she will be whole in body once again--a new eternal body which cannot succumb to disease. We can only rejoice that this person will soon get to experience what we all wish for. I ask that God give you the words to write a wonderful, respectful eulogy and the strength to plan a wonderful funeral service. Dont mourn this person's death--celebrate the life they had here on earth, and the life their about to have in heaven which is much grander than we can ever imagine. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. :)

As update, he died this afternoon. I visited him on Easter and thought it might be the last time I saw him. And I wrote the eulogy. So - thank you for your prayers.
