Feeling lost and alone

Sometimes I feel I have no purpose at all. I just don't understand, I have a college degree but it seems as though I can't keep a steady job. I repeatedly give into lust. In hopes that it would lead to the relationship that I'm longing for. I have nothing to live for. Seems like I'm in this world alone. Not one person understands me so I have no one to talk to. First and foremost I pray for the strength to keep my faith and to strengthen my relationship with God. So that I may find my purpose in life. I pray for a steady job that provides not only financial stability but joy because I'm doing what God has predestined me to do. I pray for the strength to not give into ungodly actions. To trust in God more instead of seeking comfort in man. I pray for the strength and courage to walk away from unhealthy relationships in my life.

These are the kind of things I disbelieve these are real people...

Yes! In the section of needing prayer (I don't mind praying, for YOU and for me), but this is hard to believe: Just another thought to chew!

I understand exactly what you are saying. Stay on this site for a period of time as there are a lot of good people here who may be able to provide you with company and friendship.

I can relate to all of your feelings. And from what I can see, you are doing all the right things. I have found that I feel alone and hopeless and more worthless when I am not in close proximity with God. So stay close and get even closer.

And when I am right next to him, with my head on his chest, listening to him breathe... Oh, so amazing... I am deeply comforted, feel deeply beautiful and live each day in joy and without worries. For a long time I had to pray for him to teach me how to do this... It's much harder than we think and yet so simple...

Lord, I pray that you will just show her how... How to let go of all things... How to let go of all control and to let you do it all. Help her to just rest against you Lord and soak in your love and presence... It's okay... You don't have to figure it out... You don't have to give into lust... You don't have to be down... Because he loves you and he knows exactly, down to the numbers of the hair on your head, how to care for you. And as long as you remain still in his hands, you'll be safe.

I know where you are coming from hun,
there certainly does come a point in your life when you start questioning things.
I do this often.

I am a good person why do these "bad things happen"
I pray
I ask for forgiveness
I ask for strength
etc etc

There definitely comes a point where you just feel like "giving up"

And it's ok to feel down at times, but just remember that if these feelings last longer than it needs to then maybe look into dealing with it a different way.
If nothing seems to be getting through to me, I usually try a different way of inspiring myself and to jog my thought process back into (not feeling sorry for myself) which I find I do sometimes.
Some days are good some says are bad which is totally fine. And I guess totally normal.

Put a movie on, sit back, relax, take it easy and don't be so hard on yourself. You are always protected and you are loved dearly even if you don't feel it sometimes, God created something beautiful and that is you xx

I can relate to a lot of what you are saying. I got my undergraduate degree 9 years ago, and it was very hard to find a job, even with experience and awards, I ended up working as a secretary in a funeral home for 7 months before I landed a great job. Even now, I just graduated with my masters degree a few weeks ago, and I'm applying for temp receptionist work because I haven't had much luck landing a job. It's rough out there.

I read somewhere that purpose comes from serving God and loving God. Is there any kind of volunteer, ministry or charitable work you like to do?

For me, even when I was job-less and boyfriend-less, serving in ministry with people I really loved and trusted gave my life a lot of meaning, especially when we were ministering to the poor in our community.

I'll be praying for you for the lust thing, too. I've been there also. It's hard, but you're not alone. Molly in Texas can relate to you.
