There are a lot of hateful and hurtful spirits on the bible discussion forum. I think its a forum that should be deleted. Its being misused and the amount of judgment and hate in the hearts of some people who want to be right is devastating to the mission of Christ.
Currently, it is a forum where people are free to condescendingly hurt one another.
What good fruits are currently coming from the bible discussion forum. Link me to one loving thread on there without the hurt, and if you cannot, consider what allowing it may be doing to unsuspecting members who sign up...

I have seen comments on here lately from posters who are actually SCARED to enter the bible forum, and they are warning others to stay away from it's drama as well. You're right, MisterHarmony, what kind of example does that set for newbies who see a comment saying "stay away from the bible forum because it's all drama in there"? Not a very good example, that's for sure.

I'm not surprised that people are Scared to enter it. I think if a person were to spend a fair amount of time in there, they may begin to get sick too. I feel dark spirits in there. And that its a situation way out of hand.

Without love we are nothing. With out kindness and patience we cant love. Jesus was to be murdered. .soldiers had come to take Him to His death..peter cut off a soldiers ear and Jesus healed him, a man who came to lead Him to His death.

We think because we label people trolls its ok not to love. In every situation we are to love. If we dont then maybe we should examine our own fruit.

I'm hesitant to go back in there myself. We don't know what the person is like behind the screen and if people continue to be mocked and called names, what's the point in having a forum like that?

I understand that this would probably be the initial response from a moderator here.
I have to ask:
Is this serving the interests of God or the interests of men? Preserving it only because the level of activity is not coming from wisdom. It is either to appeal and be accepted by the ones who use it, or a feeling that having the forum there is somehow a service to Christians. I'm not sure it is a service at all at this point. I cannot even go in there to bring evidence because it hurts my body to read the threads in there.

Satan doesn't like the fact that I posted this. The enemy has been trying to get through to hurt me all night.
I can tell you the evil one is succeeding in that forum and if the ones in charge of the site can understand this we can weaken his influence on the site substantially because it is centralized into one forum. Please don't assume that the activity will go to the other forums. I don't think this is the case. A least not on a very large scale.

My great concern is that is an addictive stumbling block, that the devils influence with pride is becoming too chaotic, and that it could hurt one of the harmless sheep that belong to the Messiah if they wander in there unaware, or become a part of it. The posters can feel how strong the temptation is to argue/hurt one another in that forum.

The bible discussion forum serves a purpose, true it is the place where a lot of hateful and rude people go but at least this way we can tell the wheat from the chaff. Plus It is the best place to discuss things of the bible, I go there often and I try to make encouraging threads but honestly those kind of threads dont last long no one really cares about them what ppl want is a heated debating thread and I know all the touchy subjects so if I wanted I could have 7 or 8 maybe even more threads with 6 or more pages.

But that would defeat the purpose we are supposed to be on here to help each other grow and to teach edify and love each other, its seems many do not feel the same.

I think the best way to show God's love is to lead by example and loving people even when they are judgemental on the Bible Discussion forum

I find it useful to discuss sometimes, but then i have some folks on ignore and pray alot before looking at their comments.

most of the time I just converse with those who are truly seeking to understand and help others understand God's words.

You have to understand there are a lot of denominations, side groups and even some cults who like to recruit for their groups instead of edifying for the body of Christ.

I think it is good for people to search scriptures for themselves and pray to God for answers instead of seeking them from other people.

I've found some good threads in the Bible discussion forum. We have one where we just quote one scripture verse and are trying to read through the Bible together. I suspect it will take a while but I think it is good to do such things with other people.

also there are some really good threads but they get buried because no one comments on them. i will try and dig some up and bring them back if you like.

Unfortunately the Bible Discussion Forum is the most difficult to deal with from the site's point of view. If we come down with a hard handed approach in an attempt to make it "more civil" we are accused of stifling free discussion and making it impossible for people to express their opinions. I we take a more hands off approach (outside of blatant heresy and over the top nastiness) we end up with persons such as the OP discontented because of threads can become a bit tense.

You will notice that at the head of the BDF there are two stickied posts from Admin stating our general policies pertaining to that forum. I am of the opinion that those two threads serve as fair warning to the faint of heart.

One more reason to have a New Believers Forum...not scratch the existing Bible Discussion Forum.
