Okay, that might not be what it's called, but I've seen the gizmo on another site and like it. (I'd link to the other site, but you have to join to go in it.) It's an arrow button on the right side of the screen that, when clicked, zooms the user up to the top of the page. It's handy dandy since something like 20 responses can be found on one page, and sometimes all I want to do after reading 70% or more is to leave quietly. As it stands now, I have to scroll and scroll and scroll my way up to the top of the page to find the link that takes me away from that page.

Actually on your keyboard, to the top right, are "Home" and "End" keys. Pressing home jumps you to the top of the page while end takes you to the bottom.
Also if you are wanting ago to the front page, at the bottom is a link that takes you there.

Go to the right of your own screen. See your own "scroll bar"? Click just BELOW the tiny arrow in the top of the "scroll bar'. It will take you directly to the top... or, if there are a lot of posts, you may have to click it more than once.

But, the "HOME" key mentioned above, works best.

Your computer must be newer than mine. I don't have that. (I have a tower with Windows 7.) I will give up on towers only when I have no choice. lol

What, i think, he means, is on the scroll bar are arrows on the top and bottom. If you click inside the scroll bar, rather than on the arrow, it will scroll it down some (or up). If you hold it down it will scroll down to where your pointer is.
It's often not a highly effective method as it's difficult to control if you're aiming for a certain spot and is still slower than the Home and End keys.

my computer has a tower. ALL computers have the scroll bar. If you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, you can use that to scroll also.
