I feel like we should have a politics room so we don't bother other people who are trying to worship god. Also because some people are not intrested in politics. please if we can have this room let me know

i don't think this is a good idea sorry but i think it would cause problems for the site it would open up a whole mess of problems that shouldn't be open cause before you know it a debate can lead to an argument and that can lead to cussing and then people would have said things they shouldn't have and get kicked off.

No different than how things might go in Bible Study.

Adults need to discuss things, even things filled with emotion and passion, because they're important. If we never discuss them, no good will ever come. Fear of offending others and fear of disagreement stifle almost all productive and fruitful discussion in this day and age.

People must control themselves, the same as when Catholics and Protestants and Atheists clash in Bible Study... or if politics are discussed in any of the other rooms, as they are.

You can't run away from disagreements. If you're worried about a falling out... then address it prayerfully and with grace & humility. Include a brother or sister to help work it out. This is a part of life and part of being a Christian.

That being said... it's not a bad idea, but do we need an entire room? Might not random or something suffice when the urge grabs people?

You're entitled to it. Though I think you prove my point by not explaining why. ;)

I think it would be okay, one would expect a christian community could be mature enough to handle a discussion of political means.

We had a very lovely chat about the healthcare bill in random last night. It was calm, reasonable and very fun.

I don't object to the topic. I just think a new room for politics is pushing it.

I'll agree with Grace2010. If we were to go with this idea, I would recommend renaming an existing room to Politics instead of creating a whole new room.

I like this idea because whenever I come into CC. I get everybody talking about Obamba and the health care bill. Not that that's a bad thing. It just cloggs up the rest off CC and the conversation goes round in a circle. Plus I never get a chance to talk about British politics.

Good idea man. Keep them coming!

I personally see nothing to gain with a politics room. People who have an opinion on an issue aren't going to change their opinion. And instead of conversation, it becomes everyobody arguing that they are right and the other side is wrong. Creating devisiveness and separation between believers and hindering the body of Christ.
The two topics most likely to create disharmony are politics and religio.....oh wait. Never mind. Carry on.
