There are many abuse survivors in this world. Maybe there could be a forum for each type like one for physical harrassment, another for sexual assault survivors, and one for emotional abuse.

The owner likes to keep the forum options minimal. And there has to be a high demand for a new forum (or perceived demand).
I don't think the demand for abuse survivors is great enough to move the site owner to create an entire forum for it, let alone three separate forums. In fact nearly every suggestion for a new room or forum has gone unheeded.
Quite honestly, while there are some great people on this site, there are also quite a few... less favorable people. And i would feel sympathy for anyone going to such a forum here, on that topic, considering some of the answers and treatment i've seen previous abuse survivors go through here at the hands of a few ignorant people. So being a big selective of what you share publicly might be wise. Also the threads and posts here are open to the public to read. So anyone on Google can read the posts put up by others.
This is all my opinion and experience, so i am in no way speaking for the site. But i have been here years and seen how things go and this is what i have learned. Just giving you a heads up is all. :)

Thanks you for the advice. I realize this is not a forum for that.

No, it's not that it's a bad idea. It's just that there is not a very high demand for it. Few people come here seeking help for those specific needs. And there are Some people on this site who i have seen treat victims of abuse, that Have come to this site for help, quite badly. Since there is no way to restrict those people if they are active members, then it only opens the doors for more abuse. Sad to say it happens among Christians.
Ultimately issues like that require professional counseling and treatment anyways. But it is, in my opinion, a subject that i wish could be dealt with better here.

I think if you spend some time on here, you would make some friends that you could talk to. I struggle with depression sometimes and I know that I have made it through dark times because of my friends on here.

Just make sure you are confiding in trustworthy people. Trust takes time to build but it is worth is to make friends on here. Blessings to you!

Tip: stay away from the Bible Discussion Forum for now. It's full of trolls and people who constantly fight. It's not a good area for CC newbies to go there. Sorry, you could go if you want to, but I personally find it discouraging.
The Singles, Misc, Ladies, Family, and Prayer forums are pretty great!

Parents.

Some have an abusive, overcontrolling mom or dad that never leaves them be, networking to interfere and whatever else.
I'm almost 38... Still put up with sexual harassment from my family etc. whether I want to or not.
Finally just decided to be flat out insulting.
Too much pacifism for too long.

Had to vent. Thanks.

Feel free to email me. I'm also a victim of abuse.

I realize this site doesn't offer a specific forum for that, but maybe you could start a thread going to discuss such things?

Just another thought... you can also create your own group and invite members to join. That might be a great option as you can also set it to private.

Haha I didn't think about how posting my original message would make it obvious that I've been abused. It's been brought to my attention that people on this sight can be judgmental and mean so I might just create my own group and set it to private. Thanks.
