How about maybe giving each Christian denomination a forum so it will cut down on the animosity in BDF? Yeah its a form of segregation but its become obvious that some can't or won't play well with others.

Eeek! I think that would make for a LOT of forums.lol And you know what,I bet there would STILL be arguments and closed threads.

I have seen this in other Christian forums and I will admit it gives the forum a sense of structure however arguments happen just as much and attacks actually happen more to the specific denomination itself, many will go to those specific denomination forum simply to argue debate and yes attack and troll that denomination.

However I also have seen good come from it as well it really depends on the site and the kind of people that frequent it

I used to go baptist when I was a kid.
We have one church here in town that I'm in.
Its Catholic and apparently for our richer citizens only.
I'd rather be Pinocchio in a congregation of woodpeckers than go there.

ROFL I now have to find a way to add that into one of my conversations.

I don't think that's a good idea. Like somebody else pointed out about Baptists, the online vitriol will be taken within denomination. It won't be eliminated. Not by a long shot.

What it will do is something worse- limit inter-denominational interaction. When that happens, we all lose in real life.

It's understandable that people hate faction and contention. It's part of our human nature. We want unity AND diversity, but apart from perfection under God, the perfect balance of the two isn't possible.

So in the meantime we fight. And thank God we do, because if we are not fighting then somebody is exercising too much power over the opinions of others.

Unity and diversity would be nice but its sad becuz that not what we have. We instead have Christians crusading against Christians to see who's the true biblical scholar. Its sad to see that some think their view is more Christian than others.

I agree that pride and arrogance is a problem in Bible-related debates. A very wise woman once told me that oftentimes it's best to just keep your mouth shut if you find a problem with a sermon and the like.

But debate and discussion are necessary processes. Otherwise some other man decides on the basis of authority what you ought to believe. A lot of the beliefs and freedoms we take for granted as Christians today exist because God used the human tendency to disagree in order to preserve the purpose and meaning of the Word in the minds of men.

I disagree.

If I disagree that I'm helping you...
am I still helping you?

My denomination has it's conservative branch and its liberal branch. I suspect the fighting would be much worse, because now you would have real-life battles, not just abstract ones.
