All of us have five (5) minutes to get all editing done (Not even 5 minutes and 1 second... just 5 minutes.) It is probably going by so fast, you don't realize the time is up.

It is stupid, and it stinks, but it is what it is.

At least he didn't jump to conclusions and take things personally, then lash out under false assumptions. That may have reflected poorly on his character.

1. You cannot be blocked from editing a post.

2. You messaged a mod, so they're aware of it. Considering how few mods there are on here at any given time, AND that they are very busy with other stuff, you may have to wait for an return PM from one of them.

3. You haven't been hacked. It's just probably a glitch in the system. That happens alot here.. lol

4. Set your nose back in joint, sit down and relax. Take a deep breath, this too shall pass. ;)

Best to proof read the post and make changes before submitting the post.

:)In their defense, they DO have a good reason for the edit time being a short time limit.

I suggest typing your post in word, editing it and then cut and paste if you are very concerned about your typos and editing ability.

But don't worry, you won't be judged on your grammar by most.

However, theology in BDF....better have your armour on.

When I was in school, we learned to edit before we published. We would have a rough draft, sometimes a second draft and then a final draft. At each stage, we had to proofread for spelling and grammar errors,

I try and do that with all my posts. All my devices change words, and I had an old external keyboard on my IPad that had keys that stuck, or no letter would come up after hitting it 3 or 4 times. So even more errors to edit. I finally got a new keyboard. And I realize that my typing skills are another issue.

Plus, it really can cause problems when the editing is open and people go back and change the post. In the BDF, that would be a nightmare!

Which is to say, I understand how frustrated you must feel about not being able to edit your posts. But this is not FB, and as Upsetting as it is to see major errors, the 2 solutions are to either type it before or edit it before you post. Then you can usually get errors down to 1 or 2 per post, which can be taken care of in under the 5 minute limit!

Welcome to CC!

PS I really should have left this post unedited, so you could see how bad my posts are before editing, but then it couldn't be read!

step 2

Capture2.jpg

repeat until satisfied with your edits.

then submit reply

this gives you all the time you need, plus you have a lot more formatting options

yes -- imagine how all the "he said, she said" conversations would go if he & she could go back and edit every post in question made hours, days, weeks and months ago!

instead, we get to learn ((hopefully)) to be more careful and deliberate about what we say.
