It would be nice to have the ability to squelch/mute users. For example, say I'm in the bible study room, and User JohnDoe continues to argue the same thing over and over and generaly be annoying. I'd like be able to click the user's name and click mute and not hear or see anything that user says untill I turn it back off again. It might make life easier for the mods too. Note that I would be the only one affected by the squelches I put in place. So, if I find someone annoying or abusive it doesn't mean it affects everyone else. *Click* I don't have to see mr annoying anymore. Just a thought. Course, that would imply a list of names each user is ignoring... Sad to put this in as a feature request but man sometimes Christians love to argue.

Staterep, we were experiencing some technical difficulties beyond our control that were affecting literally hundreds if not thousands of other sites. It seems to have been cleared up for several hours now.

Yes..some of us have been suggesting this for a long time now. An ignore user function would reduce a lot of drama in the chat.

I have an even better idea. Lets have a common sense button. Whenever someone starts getting annoying or rude, we just press the common sense button and "poof" common sense reigns.

Okay, so that type of button really wouldn't work. And while your idea of a squelch/mute button is a great idea, and is possible, part of the reason I think it's not been incorporated is the fact of the technical adaption. Your not looking at just ignoring the written part of the chat room, but also the verbal part. And from what I gather, this type of system runs on two diffrent platforms.

We had another longer thread on this not long ago. Apparently there is a chance it will make an appearance in the next version of CC.

I was not referring to the two year old post, made by a member no longer on the site, but rather the 'thread' itself, none of which had anything to do with the OP up til your response.
