Hey Kingdom pardon me but is this an honest technical question? Or is it simply a rethorical question/remark making the point that some user commends you at the same time that a mderator issues an infraction to you?

However before making this post I did not have any rep points. Previously, I was under the impression that all rep points were a good thing however, I find it very strange that I would receive positive rep points on a day when I also received an infraction.
Could you please explain how the system works?

i believed i posted somethin about that on this thread (http://christianchat.com/showthread.php?t=1460&highlight=rep+point), rep points is not the same as rep power. but yeah thats kinda strange.. lol

Here's the answer:
Reputation points can come from anyone. If someone likes a post you make, they can add reputation points to you, which builds up your reputation score.
Infractions, and infraction points, have nothing to do with reputation points. Infractions can only be given by moderators. Each infraction has a number of points (determined by the moderator). Infractions points accumulate. If anyone accumulates 10 infraction points, then they're automatically banned. We use this system to try to give users clear warnings (about smaller offenses) before having to resort to a ban.
Also the moderator can set an expiration time for any infraction points issued (or no expiration).
