Can we have a sticky of the current list of moderators (names linked to their profile or to message them)?

It would be nice to know who are the mods and have easy access to message a mod when they aren't online. I have been on CC in about 4 separate occasions where a mod was needed and no mod was to be found. Just having easy contact, they could possibly be checking their email and come on to resolve the situation.

Even if it isn't for solving conflict, just to see the current mod list is nice.

I can give you one off the top of my head for now, and maybe Robo or Stilly can edit/add to my list if I've missed anyone.

Current Mods are

RoboOp
1still_waters
Billythekid
oncefallen
alaynaj
snowangel
iraasuup
Nchrist

I think this is current. However, that was just off the top of my head.

A link to our profiles to contact us is a good idea. Maybe Robo could do that...I'm not sure.

Hope that helps for now..

Re: List of Mods - billy and stilly

I think the mod list has changed.. and I also want to make another suggestion..

get mods that are uglier.

it is distracting to have hot stuff men like billythekid and stilly as mods. please make them uglier. thank you.

Ha! This is actually an excellent suggestion.

Please include addresses, phone numbers, and place of work too, please.

Also, two forms of I.D.

I see that there are also, ''kickers,'' without the red icon. I'm gonna put, ''more kickers,'' on my wish list. There are some people in here almost all day every day who would be a great fit for that ability. Awesome in calming the room down, bringing it to order, and calling someone out when necessary. Learned in prayer and the Word... That would be great. :)

The *kickers* are our private list of 'trusted users' so just keep in mind, even when you think there isn't a mod around, someone can always be watching.

i haven't been in the chat for so long(do to taking care of my disabled father) that i didn't even know that the "kicker" change had been added, i thinks its a good idea and one that was defiantly needed

Could this sticky http://christianchat.com/new-christian-chat-members-introduce-yourselves/31669-help-new-users.html have post #6 of this thread added to it, please? I've had to do links to both posts for some people before, and it would save time. More people would see it, too. Also, if both of these threads could be put in the FAQ section in addition to where they are, cool; it seems like the stickies get overlooked sometimes (at least, I don't notice them right away, myself. Perhaps because they aren't bold like the unread threads are) :). Hey, if the "Help for new users" sticky could be automatically sent to all the new members in their forum mail so that it would be waiting for them the first time they come online, awesome!

Hey, good idea about the New Users in mail, and adding the mod list as well.
And i agree, the Sticky's are really easy to miss. Perhaps make the titles a different color, like a bright red and keep them bold?

Thank you, Ugly :). Also, if someone could make a video of the screen when you log in, go in the chat rooms, make and edit a post, etc. (even reporting something to a mod, if possible, which I've had to explain to a few people how to do....would be a lot easier if they could simply refer back to the first forum mail message they ever received on this site, which could be the video of it all being done). It was recommended by a new member that the software to use be Screen Casting. I hope that someone could be found to do this. I wish I could volunteer, but I'm not very good with computers.

Also, could we have a list of things that we aren't allowed to say in the chat room? I realize that it would take a lot of asterisks to keep it form being a list of dirty words, but there was a long discussion in the lounge the other morning about what was acceptable after a member used a word that he was quickly asked not to say by a young man who admitted using the word himself at times, just not on this site. Some things I don't know if I should report, either, because I personally wouldn't say them, but I'm not sure if they are bad enough to "tattle" on :))), and I don't want to over-report.

The video concept is good, but only feasible if the person doing it knows how to 'zoom in' for close ups of each aspect he's doing. Otherwise having just one big screen shot might be too small to be seen on the average size video.

Kind of tying into your 'bad language' request, i'd like to see the mods get on the same page about things. There seems to be so much that varies from mod to mod at times. And that includes the posted CC rules. Case in point, the rule about not speaking english in main chat. There was an occasion where two people were speaking another language and having a conversation in main. I said something about it and the mod pointed the rule out to them and asked them to speak english or take it to private, as per the rule. But on another occasion, same situation, different mod, the mod told me that they were still within bounds of the posted rule and the didn't need to stop. So two mods, one rule, two standards. So which one is right? If mods disagree on the rules how are we to know?
Or even the use of the other rooms like sports or yousing. When a person is asked to not sing or play music in Lounge seems to vary. Depending on the mod, and the person singing/playing. It all seems very subjective, again, one mod to the next. And there's no real consistency.

something i have used on sevral occasions for tech support related issues is screen shots that display where to go and what to click like "if you want to chat follow this....." they could be attached to the automatically generated "greeting" email a new user recives

for a example look at the second post in THIS thred

From what I've been told, Ugly, Screen Casting simply "takes a video" of what's happening on the actual screen; you don't hold a camera, rather the software "tapes" everything that the screen shows, including where your mouse clicks (cursor movement and all). Perhaps I can find a video that someone did of another site or something, and put the link here.

I know, Jilly. I have used Fraps to take videos when i used to play World of Warcraft a lot. And i've seen a lot of videos made for WOW as well, much better than anything i ever made, haha.
When i said 'zoom in' i was referring to using the software itself to zoom in to particular area. So if a person were talking about the 'speed/cam/mic/room/chat now' spot that you can go from a full screen view, to using the software to zoom into those buttons so you can see them. A video taken only from a full shot of the screen would be too small to see what's what.
