Perhaps moderators could move out more of the young men's sexual issues posts to miscellaneous ( and secondarily family if not embarrassing to all).

(Also, there's also quite a few threads in Bible discussion which are not really Bible discussion and should be in misellaneous too.)

I had an idea yesterday (perhaps it was the Lord's idea :)). How about this: a filter that can be placed on threads so that the thread only shows up to the specified gender/age? As an example, let's say that a teen wants help determining the probability of football teams making it to the Super Bowl (hehe :)). He only wants to hear from other males because he thinks that girls don't know anything about the subject, so he adds the "male only" filter. None of the females can see the thread. He can post it wherever he wants to. An older guy wanting help with a problem that the younger teens shouldn't know about can put the "18 and up" and "male only" filters on so the females and younger guys don't see the thread at all (even the title or poster, so we don't see who has the problem; makes for less awkwardness). This would also be useful when someone in their 40's wants to start a thread discussing the trials of being a single older adult. I have to admit, it's a tad annoying to see a post by a 16-year-old on these threads saying, "oh, I know what you mean; I haven't had a boyfriend for a whole month now!". Instead of asking the younger folks not to answer, they could simply add an age filter when they create the thread so the 25 and under group (or whatever age they choose) doesn't even know that the thread is there. Also, perhaps there can be a "squeamish" filter that can be placed on threads, and when we sign up (or directly after) we can be asked if we would like to see any borderline threads. These particular threads wouldn't be bad, just dealing with an icky subject that some users would rather choose not to see :).
P.S. Steve, you're allowed to comment in any forum you would like, you just aren't allowed in the teen or singles CHAT ROOMS :). The teens USUALLY thank everyone for their advice, even older folks :).

Good point. I don't think men as a whole rely upon other men to solve their masturbation or porn issues. lol I mean, I think some men are genuinely humbled enough to ask about it. They understand they have a problem that needs to be solved in their lives that is sexual in nature but that they haven't been able to change themselves. It really doesn't bother me, whether it be a woman or man popping the question just as long as its genuine. But I did not know that about an invisible woman's section which involves these issues.

Personally I think men should have an invisible football forum.
i don't know. it just seems strange that's all.

if there was a men's forum you guys could make football threads and fellowship that way all you like.

perhaps I'm wrong but most women don't make threads about those issues except in the women's forum. it just makes sense to me for the guys to be given the same option.

lol@ football threads

I agree, guys need other guys to give them advice about those things, NOT other girls. They even teach that in church. I still think it's a good idea and could be of a benefit for the guys.

Or they can move those threads into the Male Forum if they make one.

Also, good idea about football going into a hidden thread.

Then I don't have to see anything about it, haha.

- - maybe that's what you girls are really thinking .;):):)

- - -

Actually, men don't really want to hear about football...only talk about football.

What a fantastic idea, just another forum for the mods to have to sift through...because we're not busy enough already!

I see your point, and I do think since we have ladies forum, we could also have mens forum, however I don't agree with encouraging it to be a forum where the aformentioned topics of masturbation, porn, lust etc be continually discussed.

The ladies forum is purely to discuss 'girl issues' that we might not want to talk about in front of males, and to get advice and counsel from other Godly women who have had similar experiences. The idea is to be a place to receive encouragement etc. Now, I know the same could be said for the mens forums, but regarding those topics mentioned, I haven't ever seen a thread on those issues that hasn't had to be deleted/edited etc.

I can just see this being a whole pile of extra work, however I'm not against the idea.

END RANT

Soooo agree too!! Even though it seems some may have suggested it won't work, people do continue to post these things so they do need to be put somewhere... even if it's hard and doesn't really work out well is it a bad thing to encourage men to help other men by creating the right forum?

How about we just bann people who talk about private(sexual) matters. Isnt there a
mail system here? And a chatt site where you can search out council?
I dont really think a person who wants help tells the world their problem. I really
dont.

Eph.5:12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

Well...
a) it's not for bananas to tell mods what to do with their work.
b) it's not for bananas to tell mods how to run their show.
c) it's not a mystery either that folks get banned out of here for overstepping some Christian gate somewhere. ie. strangelove among others.

How did that thread end again? ...something about "spontaneous human combustion" and POOF the magic was like GONE.

...yet the "M" thread, aka xxx topic I didn't bother to click on, lingers, a thriving dragon without any foreseeable "spontaneous combustion" extinction in the nearer future...

Yes, a kind mod had the patience to hear banana rant; I promise this is the end rant. :)
