i assume i need to respond on it . yes , i took this post a bit personaly , cuz of what happent to me . but look ppl how much things depends how we act towards eachother . i do believe that every attitude has explanation and some ppl by acting negative trying to find someone who may understand them etc . i could be wrong , but even hard heart can become soft if that someone will feel loved . am i wrong ? we want to seperate ourself from negative ppl , cuz it not always easy to stay positive .but still ...

Half the problem here is that people DON'T TELL US (Moderators) when there is actually a problem.

Instead, they get angry at us for not doing anything, or supposedly letting someone get away with something. Then they vent their frustrations about this to a million other chatters who then all form the unsubstantiated opinion that the Moderators are favouring certain people, or that some mods are too lax, or others are too ban-happy, or people get banned no reason, or people don't get banned who should and on and on the list goes.

People... we are Moderators, but we are also HUMAN, we cannot read minds. We don't know there is a problem if you choose not to tell us.
Also, bear in mind sometimes you may only hear one very small side to a story (which may not even have any truth to it at all).

Yes, I understand there are some people who are, well, annoying. But put them on your ignore list and be done with it, then you can go on chatting with others in peace. If however, someone is GENUINELY hassling you, breakin rules, causing problems etc, PLEASE report it! REPORT REPORT REPORT, I cannot stress this enough.

If you choose not to, that's fine too, but please, can I ask that if you do not wish to report people- do not take your frustrations, or accusations of 'favoured people' and such to the public forums. These things only make a job harder to do.

Cheerio... and thanks :)

"Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world..." Philippians 2:14-15
Nice scripture...however it is not relevant to this situation. Bullies should be confronted...just like David confronted Goliath.

Rus-Lady,

Send me a private chat message.

The post I made on this thread wasn't directed at you at all. I hope you don't feel it was,

It was a general statement, reminding people to report, because we have A LOT of problems with this, and I could see it comng out in this thread.

Let me apologise if you felt it was personal towards you, but it certainly wasn't. Please send me a private chat message to discuss closing your account if you still wish to.

Cheers

Katie

There is no way to ignore a person in the chats, though. Thats the point of this thread, to request an ability to to do this.

Far as the 'favored' issue, when i was newer i got in trouble with a mod over a conversation, yet the 'regular' who i was in the conversation with, and who was just as 'guilty' as i was, yet nothing happened to them. When i questioned the mod about this i was essentially told to just accept it or get in worse trouble. Since then i've seen other 'favored' chatters making the same types of comments i did, over and over, and mods never say a word. So what am i supposed to do or think when i nicely ask why there are double standards and am only threatened with punishment for asking?

I agree. Yet you can confront people with tact.

And speaking of irrelevance, this thread has been about improving on methods to "ignore" people, not confront them.

Yep..you are correct...If we had the option to put them on ignore. maybe we not need to confront them

Ira: as has been saidI

- In- CHAT ignore does not work
also: if someone quotes whoever you ignore, it shows up

And I know from experience what it's like dealing with people not delaing with each other :p
but if the tech was able to make a in chat ignore maybe there would be less work for you mods here?

Since it is not against any rules to be annoying or to just be stupid in general, we cant come running to a mod everytime someone gets on our nerves,,,,this is why an ignore user function would be so handy

In room ignore DOES WORK. Are you sure you're doing it properly?

It's not the ignore button in the PM box, it's the ignore option in the user contol panel.

As i type this, i have an active chatter, in the chat rooms on ignore. I can still see everything they type. And yes, through the control panel.
That ignore does not work in room, as is being proven this very moment. Has been proven in the past when i tried it, and by many other users who said they've tried it and it doesn't work for them in chats either. It only works in the forums.

To all the mods, i ask and implore
Give us the option to ignore
What offends me may not offend you
To click ingore is the thing to do

It works in the forum, but not in the chat
I fail to see the logic in that
Some people are annoying everyday
To just click ignore and they go away

It would sure cut down on drama and strife
All those trolls who have no life
Or people who just get on your nerves
A useful purpose, it would serve

Favoritism! *reports iraasuup to another Mod*.

:p

Haha! It was a great effort!

I sent it to Robo and he said 'well, how can I refuse?' lol..

Rest assured it is something he's looking at whilst making all the new changes, so sit tight! It's most likely on it's way! :)
