I recently got angry with two people and spoke in an angry tone. Once I would have said, what is the big deal, they will get over it.

One of the persons I allowed my anger to lash out at was a complete stranger. He rang my door bell several times, then beat on my door loudly. I have excuses, I am disabled, it takes me a long time to get out of my chair. I had heart surgery only a couple weeks before. Do you think he knew that? Of course not.

When I got up from my chair I was already angry because he had disturbed my peace and quiet by ringing the door bell , then knocking loudly on the door. He was drunk and mumbled if I could take him down town, only a couple of miles away.

I probably would have driven him had I not let my anger take control of me. I told him forcefully that no, I couldn't take him and would he just leave.

Now, all he will remember is that he came to a house with a cross in the window and a rock by the door that reads "Rejoice in The Lord." Have I sent this man away giving him yet another reason to drink? Will he believe all Christians are angry hypocrites?

Sometimes all we have is one chance to show the true gift of love God gives us. I hope I get another chance to show that I do care and am willing to help.

This is a bible passage I wish I had remembered before I went to the door:
"My dear brothers and sisters, always be willing to listen and slow to speak. Do not become angry easily, because anger will not help you live the right kind of life God wants." James 1: 19-20

Have a wonderful day and help make someone elses wonderful too.

May God pour out His richest blessings upon you all, in Jesus name, Amen.

Love in Jesus Christ
brother Gary

What a great message and reminder! Thank you for sharing your story and the scripture. I'm sure the Lord will bring a similar situation about and if not you were given the chance to encourage others here. :) God bless!
