But you also have to keep in mind the goal of this site. Its to present a place of chatting and fellowship. Its not here to boost peoples music careers or things like that. There is also the solicitation rule that has to be considered. I'm sure he doesn't want every person that writes a song to feel CC is a vehicle to push their music.
I've never seen an mp3 option on posts.
And though it may be easier for the user, it would be a lot more work, time, and money for Robo. The extra space needed to cover the mp3's would possibly require upgrades in hard drives. Then there's the time to install the new hardware. Then there's the time and effort into writing the programming into it all. So he could spend all that time and money, or you could spend 30 seconds signing up for Youtube.
I wasn't looking to boost anyone's career. I realize that people might want to use it that way, but good music is good music. It would be like YouSing, just not "live".
There's one huge reason why I would prefer to be able to attach mp3 files, instead of using YouTube. That way, people should be able to save the songs to their computers, as mp3 files, and put them on their mp3 players. I've got nine songs on my ipod that were sung by some cc friends. We exchanged email addresses and shared the files that way, and in one instance we used a file sharing website. But, this would be an easy way to share with whatever cc members are interested. Since the forum already has the capability of attaching that kind of file, for the admins to use, I assumed it wouldn't be too awful much trouble to let us regular users at it.
HOWEVER. I know about dwindling webspace, crammed servers, programming headaches, and babysitting members to guard against possibly piracy issues. I realize that there are reasons why the suggestion might not be implemented. And I said that I would use another method, if that was what I needed to do. It was a suggestion, not a demand. That's what this area of the forums is for... or so I hear.
