let me just say this.As much as I hate to admit it. I have and still do live with a porn addiction. Ive done ALOT of research into do to my conviction and guilt Many doctors and scientists refer to this addiction as THE addiction. Some would say it harder to beat then any other addiction. Why? Well especially if you have the inter net, its free, easily accessible and hidden. Plus it comes to you. Now what would you say to a coke or heroin addict that just had some drug dealer come up to him hand him a rock at no charge then walk off with out anyone noticing. Good luck telling them to have self control. Porn addiction is exactly that its a neurological, chemical rewiring in ones mind, as with any addiction.

This is a topic I can speak to as I am a recovering sexual addict. Yes the "easiest" to handle a porn problem is to avoid it. Un plug your tv, disconnect cable and internet, don't buy porn mags and so on. You can believe me when i tell you those things don't work. You see sexual addiction is just that an addiction. Internet filters are great and can prevent a porn addiction from forming in children during their formative years by not allowing it to enter the house. But then they have friends and their friends have computors and boys especially are very curious about a womans body.

If you are trying to avoid porn from coming in via the internet I recommend the {no override filter from besafe. com} this filter is supported by the AFA - American Family Association. If porn has already impacted you life I recommend finding a christian sexual addiction and recovery group where you can be equipped with the tools to control and overcome sexual addiction. I also recommend a program called covenent eyes. Covenent eyes as a reporting software with tells the person you are accountable what sites you visited and flag any that are questionable making you give account for your actions.

Then you have what I have. When I fell I hurt my wife terribly. Trust was gone as you can imagine. I did join a sexual addiction and recovery group and even started a biblically stronger version of the group later. My wife put a program call Spectersoft on our computor and I am glad she did. Spectorsoft is a screen capture software with shows everything your computor screen sees. So no using your computor as a dvd player for porn. The program has a stealth mode which you will not be able to find once it is activated without knowing the right sequence of keystrokes. 2 years and 9 months later I still don't know how to access it but in truth I have never tried to find out either. So in addition to being accountable to my recovery group I also have complete accountablity with my wife in regards to my online activities which is where my weakness was.

Self control is a kind of insulting thing to say so someone seeking recovery. Its not that simple. Like any addiction it didn't happen overnight and the cure will not happen overnight either. Often there are deep emotional issues attached to the addiction which a person may not even be aware of. Now some will tell you something like, Just pray for God to take it away. I will not say God can't or won't take an addiction like this away but He usually doesn't. The addict has become so dependant on the object(s) of their addiction and the ritual of the addiction that God most often will take a person back the long way. In doing this we can return to dependence on God for guiding our lives instead of insisting on doingit ourselves. As you can imagine its not a fast process but it is worth it.

X3 Watch! Triple X church. That stuff is free. And it works really well. Its moreso so people cannot question you. Because people receive an email on what sites you visited that were questionable. So then, if people have doubt about you, you can just say, ask (person who sends email to).

Prayer is the key. Ask God to baptize you with fire and he will burn all the chaff in your life. It's also good to surround yourself with Christians struggling with the same issue so you can encourage each other. Repent and pray. If you ask God to give you bread He will not give you a stone. He wants to see you out of that addiction.

I just wanted to commend you guys for recognizing this as a problem and helping each other come up with ways to overcome it. Men seem to be much more visual than females and I can only imagine how much this can probably be a temptation at times, and how it's beyond simply having 'self control'. So kudos for supporting one another in this area!

Accountabiity is the Key. You need to surround yourself with brothers and in the ladies case sisters in Christ. This goes for any Struggle. The reality is we can joke about this stuff and act like we are without reproach, or as the Word says confess your sins one to another. I praise the Lord that I wasn't born perfect because if I was then I would fall into the same trap that Satan fell into in trying to elevate myself above God..

We need each other, and we need to stop throwing each other under the bus when it doesn't suit our agenda, or when someone corrects us. I find this to be a huge issue in the body of Christ. When you give someone a little power they act like they are God and in Acts 10:34 it says the God is not a respecter of persons. So my admonishment to all us is that we need to start loving people for who they are and being patient with them if they screw up not tossing them away like the World does. Whether it be a struggle with Pornography or anything else be patient with one another thats how I'm choosing my life, because it dishonors God when treat members of the Household of faith like garbage.
