If you're a Firefox user, there is an add-on called ProCon Latte. You can find it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1803 . I've actually started using myself; I feel your pain man, the internet is full of pitfalls for Christians.

I dunno about any add-ons for any other browsers, sorry. But good luck.

I think the most important thing is to simply have an anti-porn conviction :) so you won't go to it in the first place, and if it does pop up somehow, you'll simply close it :)

Actually, you know, he didn't specify why.. what I just wrote may have taken it completely out of context. If the point is that you simply don't want to to be flashed by that crap, you're not alone.

There are some verses to meditate on that might help ya. It's good to memorize at least the general idea of verses like this. The exact wording isn't important as long as the meaning is stuck with you. When you can bring up a verse in your head, it becomes much easier to realize when you're doing things wrong, and easier to know where to get the strength from.


Your flesh is going to fight you like crazy. Demons will whisper in your ear. You just gotta remember what the book says, and resist like a drunk redneck on Cops, basically.

P.S. make sure you marry a godly woman, coz if you don't, then you're likely to have all fighting and problems, in place of what I said above!

I get upset when people say things like this! It trivializes a life-crippling problem. It's like saying that depressed people should just be happier, or alcoholics need to learn moderation. Trying to produce more self control, for a person who's mired in pornography, is like trying to claw your way out of a well with a spoon.

For men out there suffering from this problem, the best thing I've found is to remove your self from the source of the sin. This is akin to the reference of cutting of the part of you that has sinned. Except you don't have to remove part of your body, you just cut your connection to the web/tv/whatever. Then, I'd suggest an accountability partner, to help you work out why you're doing the things that you do, keep you straight, and even provide you with someone to keep you distracted. If you have to have the internet for work or something, get the kind of accountability software that forwards all the stuff you do online to someone else (your accountability partner, for instance).

God wants to help you, but you've got to help yourself as well. It's a lot of trying and falling and trying again to get out of that well.

You know your right, if you bring this garbage into your marriage it can and probably will distroy it. And if it doesn't, it will greatly effect your marriage, there is no way around it. It's not enough just to say self control will fix it. We are not strong enough to do this alone. And you know just like Topher said we can get an accountability partner, but we don't have to stop there we can even get two. (The more the marrier)

I have found that Internet Explorer has a parental control that once set up it will block all porn from popping up or even making it into your email box:) i hope this helps. The parental control is built in to IE:)

and that would be the one I learned to use thanks to God. ^_^ Besides, I think you can't beat without anti-porn software, then haven't really beaten it.

Well, sure, but it's a tool to help you win! You have to start somewhere. It's easy to tell someone to stop a habitual or even addictive sin... until you've been told to stop yours. And if you don't think you've got some habitual sin, I'd take a closer look. We are all in this together, as brothers in Christ. One's righteousness is no cleaner-looking than the other's to God. We're all in the process of being cleaned up though. That's the incredible thing about God's grace.

Well yeah, that is true. I don't think I was ever extremely addicted to it, just sorta and I do sorta miss it sometimes.
