I'm with Lina on this--you would have to keep adding other foreign language rooms if you wanted it to be fair. Here are my thoughts.

1.) I'm all for a Spanish room, and any other room. But where does it end?

2.) As we add languages, it will be more difficult to moderate. Something crude could be happening in the French room but no one would notice because not many people speak french. And if there is no moderator who knows french, that just makes things more problematic. And then what about the number of moderators we would need to have? That could get out of hand fast, and we shouldn't make any more work for the mods, especially since this is all volunteer work on their part (as far as I know).

I was thinking the same thing...we now have a Spanish room...but what about all those people we have from the Netherlands? And who would moderate there?

And I know Trilogic speaks spanish but he can't be on 24/7 to moderate the spanish room?

That's a good idea... but can you understand any language they may choose to speak?

If not, we still have the problem if not being able to moderate it properly, because none of the Mods can speak a million different languages.

But I like the idea of ONE room to cater for diff languages instead of ONE for EACH language.

I think it is an Excellent idea to have a Spanish room since that is the language most often spoken aside from English as many have said. As to other languages also being included, if that is perceived as going to be a problem, perhaps the best way to do this is to take a poll and vote as to which language most would prefer to have established in a new Chat room.

If there would be any conduct unbecoming good decorum in that room or bad language, etc. being used, I'm sure some of the participants would report it to the proper moderator to tell them what is going on without the need for a specific Spanish-speaking moderator to monitor that room all of the time. People in general should know how to deport themselves in forums such as these but of course there are exceptions with some folks, but when they stray and/or become harassing then they could be reported.

Ah, how Excellent!! Spanish should be *THE* PRIME language for the chat room and undoubtedly is and there should not be any more questions about it then! I have not visited that chat room but I bet it's a beaut! My suggestions should still stand and I hope if there are any more questions that come up in the future they can look into the hints offered. :)

Well, you were the only one with questions on it since you resurfaced a thread from 2010 and was last posted in 2011. So i'm not sure who you mean about there not being any more questions about it.
There is also a Filipino Chat room. But other than Filipino and Spanish rooms English is the 'prime' language in all other rooms.

Creo que seré el primer español en hablar en este foro xD..

This is a good Idea but this forum is really unactractive to spanish -speaker people because everything in this webpage is totally english... maybe you need change some things in homepage.

If you read the posted rules you'll find that the site is supposed to be English based. There are people from all over the world, nt just Spanish speaking countries, and each one wants their language catered to and that's not feasible.
Also the site owner is the only person that creates/updates/changes the site. Seems that catering to so many languages would be quite a large undertaking for one person.

Not the first Spanish (spaniard) but maybe the second ...but yeah anyways I suppose through PMs you can go ahead and talk in spanish all you want.
