I have been here for just over one week. I am not new to chat forums or christian dating sites, so I have seen the formats of various web sites. This site is very user friendly and of good design. I can see from just this short time on this site that it consist primarily of younger adults (17-29). I think it's great and awesome that these young adults are here on a safe site making friends and talking about our Lord. I have seen people in the Bible room but other than that everyone congregates in the lounge. I have noticed from going into the other rooms that there are never any people in theses rooms. That obviously speaks volumes as to the use of these rooms. Unfortunaltey it's a waste. I think that there could be better use of these chat rooms and they could serve a valuable ministry if the administrators of this site would respect the request of the individuals of this site. The individuals of this site know what their needs are, and they certainly know, like any consumer, when their needs are not being met. I have seen different requests for a "womens room" , "over 40"s room, etc. and the request seem to be ignored. I happen to believe that a "womens only room" would be a valuable ministry to the women who need solace and privacy concerning isssue that only women can understand. It is worth honoring this request. I certainly am not suggesting that every room request is valid as I do believe that if it does not honor God then it should not be.

In regards to my own request. I would like to see a 30-40"s room or a 40's and older room. or both. I have been privately contacted by memebers in my age group who are just happy to connect with someone their own age group ( I am 47 years old). They have expressed this verbally to me and one member said to me they "wished they had a 40's over room". I agree! Many older people come into the chat room, just like myself and they just want to enjoy discussion with someone who is on the same age level. Now....you tell me with honesty if a 17 year old wants to converse with a 47 year old on a consistent basis. NOT! I have a 15 year old and I love him dearly but he wants to interact with kids his own age. I realize that the older generation can teach and instruct the younger, and I am sure that is happening on this site. The reality is that there is a generation gap, which is normal and acceptable. And sometime we older folk just want to connect with people of our own age.

So administrators..please respect and consider the requests that the individuals are presenting. There is a reason for their requests and they are worth considerig..just as mine is. Thank you for your time. Anna

I like this idea as well. Maybe a women room , men room, parents of teens, new parents, I don't know . I have been trying to find women of my same age too and some people apparently aren't comfortable with pming out of the blue with people which is fine. I love the bible study room and you sing. The edify room seems to be used more then the prayer one at least when I have come, perhaps these could be combined somehow. I'm sure this is always a work in progress. Doing a great job whoever is doing it.

Just a note from someone who has been here a while. I have been on this site for nearly three years, and when I came there were only five rooms -- Bible Study, Lounge, Prayer, Singles and Teens. There was also no voice or video chat. All of the new rooms have been added over time as a result of requests by members. So I can assure you that administrators do take every request into account. The other thing I want to mention is that populations of rooms is a very transient animal. Yes, I too have noticed that only Bible Study and Lounge seem to be populated these days on a regular basis, and I'm not sure why. When I first joined, Teens was a bustling room (so I heard), Prayer always had 4 or 5 ppl in it, etc. So room popularity is constantly in flux. Personally, it almost feels like there are too many rooms at this point, but I'm not sure what to do about that because there were (and still are) good reasons for having each of the rooms. Some reorganization/consolidation might be a positive thing. Yes, I'm thinking out loud here, and rambling.... Anyway, I like the idea of a 30s/40s room.

There is a ladies only forum. A room is not an option, but there is a forum...that only registered females can view, and you can communicate with other women there!

I also agree with Daddycat... we DO listen to requests. That is why we have a suggestions forum. People are welcome to make suggestions, but please be aware of what is involved in implenting what you suggest.

It is not always straight forward. Most things take both time and money...of which this site has very little. Sometimes we can be hesitant to add extra rooms. The last thign we want is to segregate our users into clicky little groups. There are already numerous rooms where MIXED age groups can fellowship. If this suggestion were to be implemented I would suggest rather than adding another room, we just rename an existing one on a trial basis.

More often then not people request for rooms to be added and swear black and blue they will use them, so we add them and after a week or so they novelty has worn off. Then we are left with a room no one uses!We already have a stack of rooms that remain empty. We are presently trying to work on development in many areas of this site, but please be aware of what that actually entails. This is a free site, and all staff/moderators work here on a VOLUNTARY basis, so please feel free to make your suggestions, but also understand it may not be implemented, and if it is it could take some time :)
