I don't know why but I felt the need to share this. I don't even know if its a testimony..or a God thought.
i live in a street with many houses, at my end of the street are two massive trees. These trees are huge, as big as buildings. They are big and wide and overshadow many houses including mine. It has been a very dry winter here and the trees are very big with huge limbs over houses. One day a few months ago one of the bigger limbs for no reason simply fell on my neighbours yard and wiped out her front garden. From that day we have all been afraid that many more limbs will fall this time on a house.
Today many trucks and many machines lined the street.. Much noise is being made.. Huge amount of activity. I have two cats and the noise is making them be afraid and run to me for comfort and reassurance that all is indeed well.
The men aren't rushing, they are systematically one branch at a time removing the limbs. As one limb comes down is put in a chipper and its as if that limb never even existed or the fear that the limb brought. As the trees slowly disappear into nothing but chips more light is being shone into the street and the fear of whatever those trees threatened to bring is gone.
i am reminded of God ability to remove from us those things that bring darkness and fear from our life. Sometimes it's a loud and frightening process that makes us want to run for comfort, such as with my kitty cats. We should run to the one who is all comfort and trust him to do the job of removing what needs to be removed in order for His light to shine.
Bless you Lord that you are the true vine and that we are your body and grafted into you. That as we trust you to prune the fear and darkness out of our life you will shine your light of love in us and thru us.
