Lemme rephrase: sometimes we want something and pray for it, and God gives us an alternative that is just as amazing. Like today. It was my first day on the job and almost every other job I have been to they didn't make us stay the whole day of training, usually it was only like 4 hours maybe. Today was 9 hours (I was only scheduled for 8 but was unsure of the time so I came in early), and I was praying, "Please Lord I would love to get off early." That didn't happen.
What DID happen though was that we had like 2 hours to kill before we closed, and it was just me and the guys who work there and they were HILARIOUS. All of them were very personable and we joked and laughed, I got to watch them act like samurais with the rulers, and we nerded out about Star Wars for most of the rest of the day. So I honestly enjoyed that more than I would've enjoyed being at home an extra couple of hours.
So moral of the story: God didn't give me exactly what I wanted but He still gave me a nice respite.
