I came up from a hard life. my mom was a drug addict and my dad was never in my life. When i was 8 my mom died in a fire because she was too drunk to wake up and get out. It was then that i stopped believing that God was real. I then began to go into a downward spiral of depression. i tried to kill myself and didnt know where to turn. In sixth grade i was forced to move in with my dad after my aunt told me and my sister she didnt want us to live with her anymore. In high school i turned to drugs, alcohol and men to ease some of my pain. These were all around me in my little town with only 1400 people. In 2004 I graduated high shcool and moved to Chicago with my sister. At first up here in a big city i found people who i could get high and drunk with. the number of guys increased and my life was back where it had been before Chicago. Then in 06 i met a guy and we became really close friends. We were watching tv one day and he turned on this church that he had visited before. I wasnt too happy about this but after i started hearing the preacher it all began to make sense. We decided after a while to go visit the church. After a month of attending the church on April 1st 2007 after preaching a powerful sermon about being lost the pastor asked if anyone wanted prayer. I felt such an incredible power come over me and something told me to go up and give my life to God. I obeyed and before i could even tell the pastor what it was i wanted i began to cry. These were not my normal tears they were hot and cleansing. The pastor told me what i need to do and then and there i gave my life to the Lord. I have been running ever since. I tell this testimony to give God glory. all the things he has brought me through! i praise and thank him.

My mother was the first who has been saved in our family... She found God in Hong Kong where she had worked.
She had sacrificed herself in order for us (5 children) to finished our studies and have a greener pasture..
My father was an alcoholic....and he is a problem to our family..i grow up having a rebellious heart towards him,, i even asked God before why he had given me a father like him.,,..because he doesn't care toward us,,, But God has a plan for our family,, He had seen the tears and the heart of my mother..
I was in 3rd year high school during the 3rd vacation of my mother when she told me and my younger sister to go with her in the church in our brgy.
at first i was hesitant,, i was ashamed of the word 'born again'... actually i was a persecutor before...at first i was not really serious of it... i thought it was just a religion,,,and time came where i have to choose whether to follow my mother or my father who is a devoted catholic,,,, but God woks in my heart,,, when I attended a youth camp.. it opened my eyes,, i had seen young people who are in love and bold enough to declare that they are Christian..during the last night of the youth camp,, i encountered God,,,and that's the first time I said.. God is real,,,
and on the 4th vacation of my mother,,, my father has been saved,,,.. the sacrifices and the prayers of my faithful mother was indeed answered by God,, although my father....still drinks nowadays, I strongly believe that He will change because God will work on his heart...

please pray that he will totally surrender his life to Christ,,because only God can twist him,,,,sometimes i got tired and want to give up,,,but I know that it's Gods grace that saved us not of our own effort...,,

Awesome story there! It takes a great deal of will power to change your life around. You already have your foot in the door; so, you just need to keep your eyes forward. Only one way to go now.
