First off thanks "PaulyD" aka Bass4rog for sharring your testimony, i really like track 14.
"SilentLamp" i hope you know that you are a loved child of GOD and this is a common thing among us...that is to have oppression come against our joy and the light of GOD in us. you see if we dont know what GOD has done for us and what HE has told us it is a lot easier for us to be tricked into thinking and seeing things in a way that is not a heavenly perspective. as you seek HIM in HIS WORD you will find more and more the promises of GOD and the instruction which tells you how to overcome the darkness that try's to prevade you. some common examples of this are scripture that you hear commonly used to affirm who GOD is or what HE intends for us.
In my experience, to overcome is a daily decision to call upon the LORD in not only my hour of need but all throughout the day. when i wake i thank GOD and i pray then i press into my day and i see over and over there is a choice to be made, to see things from a fleshly perspective....or to see things from a heavenly perspective. I dont always get it right but if i keep my focus on GOD HE keeps me, and many times im able to see how different my view of things are compared to the heavenly perspective that HE would have me see. its only through HIS HOLY SPIRIT and through HIS LIVING WORD that we are able to really see the light even when we feel darkness trying to steal our joy and the Light of GOD in us.
I suffered a very deep and dark depression when i was in my teens, i left home at 14 and lived on the street, i had no job and no money and i suffered hunger and the cold, sickness and i was very alone even when around a group of "friends". some days i would just walk and tears would just come streaming down from my eyes for no reason, just incredibly sad and lost. i would not feel much hope if any in those days. Now i can honestly say i am set free of that darkness and only a right relationship with GOD daily keeps me free. Now the struggle is with seeing things for what they are.
Yesterday my car broke down in the gas station and i was tempted to feel like "this sucks" and immediately i acknowledged that it was my flesh that wanted to feel this way and i was not seeking GOD so i prayed, and I asked GOD for help, for HIM to send someone, then i prayed and called a friend and left a message asking them to pray for me. and as i was praying and talking to GOD and asking HIM questions a truck pulled up next to me and i really felt drawn to ask them for help. they were in the car for almost 5 minutes before they came out and when they did i asked the guy if he knew how to change the gears in an automatic without using the gear shifter and he said " i have done that before, lets see pop the hood" and the other guy got out and asked me "have you ever seen the movie GOD is not dead?" and i said "yes!, its a great movie" and then i proceeded to tell them that i was just praying and i even called a brother to pray for me just before they showed up, and then he said "we are both Christians" with a smile, "and hes a mechanic" (pointing to the guy now fixing my car) and He told me they were just talking to each other about being used for GOD, and that they were not even going to come to the gas station but they decided to for 10 minutes for some reason....at the end we prayed and i thanked GOD that this "seemingly bad" (though not bad at all) thing happend to me because, i met real brothers, and we had fellowship, and GOD increased all of HIS testimony in us, even those who had prayed for me, and even those who were witness to it. and to all those who hear of the testimony. edification, lifting up, encouragement.
One last thing, Resist the devil and he must flee. Also FLEE FROM SIN. and if you are feeling sad, alone, depressed, or anxious, know that it is not GOD doing that so call out in the name of the LORD and GOD will deliver you, you have to seek HIM with your whole heart and your whole being, HE knows exactly what you are going through, all you have to do is ask and believe, HE is already keeping you from many bad things so the parts that you do suffer know that HE is able to deliver you from it. LOVE in deed and in truth, your brother in Christ.
Psalm 42:11King James Version (KJV)
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
Psalm 86:4King James Version (KJV)
4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
JOB:11:13-
13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;
14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:
17 And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.
18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.
20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4King James Version (KJV)
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Deuteronomy 31:8King James Version (KJV)
8 And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
