So I just wanted to share this. I didn't really notice this until last night. But to give you the background, I have always been a dreamer like ever since I became a Christian. I dreamed of my father's secret affair with our family friend (which was cryptic but was revealed the next day in my mom's dream, where the meaning of my dream was clearly defined). So I'm an absolute believer that God still speaks in dreams - but so does the devil. I've had ocassions of being followed by the same figure in my dream for weeks and when my pastor prayed for me it turned out to be from my classmate, she told me there was a spirit following her around and I prayed for her without hesitation being a new christian, I had no idea about denouncing evil spirits. So for a few weeks I kept seeing the figure of a woman wanting to kill me appearing in my dreams until my pastor and a few of our bible study group prayed for me. And it was gone.

The last few years, there were many nights demons keep showing up in my dreams. My first thought was because of the movies I've been watching that time. They kept coming though and that was also prolly because of world of warcraft that I used to play a lot. Earlier this year though I haven't seen any demon in my dreams (it became often to the point that I thought I was just stressed out) this was after I stopped playing WoW.

A few months ago. I heard my pastor preach about a girl getting demonic nightmares as well, which they found was caused by her playing called soul-something on her 3ds. She threw away all her games that could be demonic and finally she stopped having nightmares. I couldn't forget about that sermon.

However, last week, I started playing this game on my phone called Clash For Dawn. I thought it was really fun to play. Technically, it's only been 6 days but I knew deep inside that I shouldn't have it on my phone. It is very demonic indeed, involving human sacrifices for the power of darkness and worshipping leader NPCs. I kept ignoring the alarms going off in my spiri until it was overpowere by my desire to play the game.

Not very long after (less than a week), last night I had a really disturbing demonic nightmare. It was a lucid dream and I was laying in my bed sleeping in my dream and I saw a demon laying beside me in my bed and laughing at me and trying to enter my body through my back THEN I woke up mumbling "Lord Jesus" and I prayed and thanked God for saving me for whatever it was that was gonna happen and I just kept thanking God for all the good things to keep my mind off of it. It was 2am and I was very scared and sleepy. I tried to go back to sleep and just before I could sleep again, if I swore, I'd swear I heard someone say (not in a very audible voice though) exactly this: "sweetie, go and delete that app" and I was so sleepy I thought I was dreaming again and I thought I could just delete it tomorrow, but I kept getting that nagging feeling. So I finally deleted it and was able to sleep peacefully after that. I realise, as well, that it's been so long since I had nightmares and I never really noticed until last night. I thank God that he never sleeps and He watches over me even when I deliberately try to go my own way and get myself in trouble.

Games are tricky because fun is the bait and entertainment is really the god of the age.

I've had my fair share of games that I've had to put down because God said "No" on them. Obedience is really important, and I'm glad to obeyed the still, small voice when you did. I don't think many people make the connection about how much influence different forms of entertainment have on their spiritual life.

Some games aren't even overtly bad, but they can easily crowd God out of our lives.

Yeah, things we let in through our eyes and ears can either save us or destroy us.

Very true. What you let in, consciously or unconsciously, will come out.

This is so fantastic. I knew this was an issue for you instinctually and what i'd read a while back from a couple of your posts. What a great turn around. When you get the enemy out of your life as much as possible and put God in all your influx of information and influence, it can make a massive difference. Replace everything with God and you'll see the result.

Yeah if you've read about my World of Warcraft addiction and sleeping issues, you'd notice. But God is amazing, He's always looking out for me. xD

I do agree with you on a particular point though, because I've had the same experience. God speaks to us through 'bad' dreams on occasion. He's forewarning us or trying to impart information to us that we in our limited fleshly capacity is not able to see. So when I have so called bad dreams from God I always attempt to make a positive out of them, using what God has shown me to help resolve any situation in my life.

That context aside, Psalm 91 is a fantastic protection to have, if you possibly can, have it open next to where you sleep (this advice is for all) and recite it before you get your rest.

Yeah, my mom had me memorize Psalm 91 when I was younger for protection. I don't know about God using 'bad' dreams but I'm sure He won't be using demonic dreams to deliver a message.

When I dreamt of my father's affair, it was a black coffin and I saw my parents crying but no one died. The next night, in my mother's dream, there was a figure of a woman who told her "the meaning of your daughter's dream is this: the black coffin is your husband's deepest secret he wants to bury." I like to call them mystic dreams lol but there will ALWAYS be a meaning if it comes from God cause then, what's the point of the dream?

Interesting subject matter here,( mark 4:24) does say be carful even for what you hear, this can be a game, a movie or a song among others things which look to entertain our mindset. After I became a believer in the Lord,he was teaching me on the need at all times to be on guard for what one hears,or looks to hear. Most believers do not consider this until something comes across there mindset, which becomes a stronghold upon that very mindset.( 2 Cor 10:4-7) please pay attention to verses 4 and 7 here. For the destruction of a fortresses, one must allow one to become build in our mindset.I think it very wise that many of you have become aware of what not only does hurt you,but even what also can! And that to me brothers and sisters is a lesson Jesus teaches us about verse 7 being in Christ Jesus!! Good job!

I would delete it. I mean, I take this verse literally (but there were times I disobeyed T_T)

Romans 14:23 ESV But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

Although I do not believe that playing mist will send you to hell, the guilt/condemnation that you feel while playing it will/might cause hindrances in your relationship with Jesus, you know? I mean, if it just makes you feel bad and ashamed when you face Jesus, then I think just drop it (not always easy).

A fine point sister Abigail makes is the concern,I also have to watch out for, anything, can become an idol. What is it we have chosen to go to when we become depressed,worried,angry,etc... shows what.or whom we place our trust in.( Proverbs 3:3-6)!!

Yes. Get rid of it and don't look back other than to learn your lesson about prominent aspects of gaming that should be avoided at all costs. They're not Christian at all and as such should be left behind in place of a Jesus filled life.

Sounds like the demons in your town are using playing video games which get the image of their want in your head to get in your head.

on some level, as you stated, playing a game with imagery of occult practices which you stated about the last game gives them cause to see an opportunity to come to you, with the mild feeling of "I should not be doing what im doing" to see if there is an opportunity to come and oppress you, because you have opened an opportunity for them to come and make you feel at fault for something giving them a possibility of tricking you into believing you deserve their antics.

Sounds like you have figured it out which is ti get rid of the games making them think they can do this, an even stronger approach would be to tell the demons directly playing the game is not equivalent to doing the acts shown in real life, and if you reached strength, you could tell them you do not feel guilty over it and know you don't deserve their torment, and you could even continue playing the game anyway, but only if you feel strong enough to confront the demons directly.

I was expecting some account you couldn't interpret.

No, there's a distinction there you've missed, that's not what I was saying. In the experiences of mine and that I've read of others on the site that I was referring to is that there's a difference between a God given dream which has the element of prophecy and it's like a warning sign to be prepared for what could come if His will isn't followed, it's like an insight into the situation that you wouldn't otherwise have in your normal flesh. That is entirely different from nightmares, that can be a result of many things from the enemy and our flesh combined. I've found that if i exercise and journal regularly, eat the best I could and spent my time as productively and positively as I could (not allowing in anything negative into my life), nightmares aren't an issue.

In my experiences those are two entirely different things. The first is what God gives us to enable and empower us in real life situations we face - although it might not be what we want, they're always a huge help because they speak the truth. I've experienced this several times, but it's up to us if we take heed of God's warning and steer clear of whatever He's attempted to warn us about. That's one of the ways in which I believe God speaks to His people.
