Everything He does is marvelous in our sight even if it is a light thing to Him. This a sequence of things He brought to pass once to help my wife and I out of a situation.

Early in the 80's we couldn't go riding in the "car car". It was a nice Volkswagen Scirocco but had for some reason blown a head. Thecwarranttvcovering it had expired and amazingly the dealer had to order the new head from Germany. One was not available in the whole of the U. S. A.! !

It was just the two of us then as Jesus had not yet began to send our children of promise. By God's grace the engineering company I worked for had a company car my boss let me borrow. It was an older but sound white Chrysler that my coworker had dubbed "the sled" and the "mafia staff car" and looked like it was 30 feet long. It was a 30 foot white sled. But we didn't care, it rolled forward and backward with a smooth ride and the price was right

Every few weeks I'd check on the replacement head but no dice. Germany was about the same distance as Mars. After a couple of months I had my annual job performance review and received a nice salary increase thank God. But I was concerned about repair costs for the headless car and we did not have the funds to pay.

After a full three months the dealer called to tell me our headless German was ready to go again and the get out of hock price was some $700 - $800. May as well have been $8000. Wifey and me had prayed and prayed for an answer but nothing came. I managed, thank God, to borrow the money from the company and get the German with the head transplant out of pawn.

A friend and coworker went with me to fetch it and he was going to drive the sled back to work for me. When leaving the dealers he couldn't get the sled to crank so we had to leave it there. Later my faithful sled was towed to a mechanic who estimated the repair cost. For such an age car it was decided it wasn't worth the price and so was sold down the river. For those three plus months it had been a faithful ride but just as soon as our car was fixed the poor old. white elephant had died in it's tracks!

Now we were faced with the burden of paying back the hefty sum of the loan that was being taken from my check in installments. It was an expense we didn't need so we fell to prayer. Lord what shall I do to pay off this debt? It was a good company and Jesus had given me much favor.

Then I began to be bugged by our adversary, the "you know who", who shall remain nameless here. "Ask for another raise he kept pressing". This pressure to ask for money at work was an annoyance and nearly unceasing plus the nerve to do such a thing after just getting a raise was not in me. Finally though I found the sheer gall to ask my boss for another raise. He said he'd speak with the company owner and get back with me and after a few days he called me in for a discussion.

He said "Frank you've just had a performance review and a raise so we can't give you another one. But here's what we decided. You're a good employee and so we're decided to give you a $1000 performance bonus. By the time taxes are taken out of it it will just about cover the loan you made so the loan is now paid.

To sum it all up Jesus had given me a car to drive while mine was being fixed, loaned me the money to pay for it then paid off the loan.

That annoying pressure to ask for more money was God and not the adversary. It sometimes takes awhile to get through to us but he is persistent so God be praised!

It us the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes!
