    Default Christians without love?

Have you ever had a Christian say u don't belong or put u down repeatedly? Someone I know has had some experiences but I don't know what would be the best advice besides prayer. What kind of effects might something like that have on someone's growth or function? I want to help..any suggestions are welcome

.. I had a pastor do that..oh that woman hates me
She has pushed me around and insulted me infront of the whole audience. It held me back from doing what God called me to do, until some day I had enough and the Lord let me leave and brought me to another place where I am loved and accepted.
I was able to grow a bit (thanks to my strong character) but not the way I could have. I had to leave or she would have destroyed me completely.
If your in a church like that, leave or get help depending on who and what is going on
    God bless you

    To both of you,
There are lots of people that will hurt you. Christ said that the world will hate you. As Christians we are suppose to be kind (loving) to our enemies. Even IF you are an enemy of the pastor, he/she should still show kindness. Had it recently where someone hated me and i still wanted to show kindness. Love is the NORMAL response of a Christian to people that show animosity.

I've had a pretty bad time recently, It's definitely a challenge but here is what got me thru:
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light- 1 Peter 2.9

I want to say this, YOU ARE PRECIOUS! Every soul is loved by God and, by extension of his love, me as well. You are unique and valued. Beautiful and loved. Stay strong!

So in simple terms, A Christian without love is an oxymoron. It is a self-contradiction. Try to show them the better way.

There are a myriad of people who call themselves Christian, who don't do the Lord's will. We shouldn't worry so much that people say we don't belong or put us down repeatedly. All we need worry about is obeying the Lord's commandments.

The power and the damaging effects of a persons harshness towards another person depends on the Authority the victim places in the person being harsh towards them..

People need to place their trust and measure of Authority in our LORD..

People should consider with prayer the words of other fellow human beings. What ever they may say.. But placing another human being up on a pedestal and making them akin to a Prophet or Jesus himself is a sure fire way to open onself up to great damage..

People are people.. With all the inbuilt faults which that imples.. No matter who they are, or what title they have before their name.. We must never make gods of our fellow men.. Or trust in them to the extent we should trust in God..

Just because a person is born into Christianity, wears a cross or goes to church doesn't mean that they are inherently good people in fact it took me 25 yrs to start appreciating God and the primary reason is that there are so many people that claim to speak for God and they promote failure and the acceptance of it in Gods eyes, along with racism, fornication, sorcery etc.

In fact I'm pretty sure that those learned people that also have a abundant source of common sense that don't believe in God don't do so because of these supposed messengers of God that are NOT truely even decent people, most of those types give real Christians a bad name just so they can point fingers denouncing others only to exalt themselves.

I think that there may be a satanic agenda among many Christians because if what they say is true that we can do WHATEVER we want and still go to Heaven as long as we apologize(repent) afterwards because God is such a nice guy! Then why is the world screwed up the way that it is now?

Why is failure being taught by Christian's?why are we saying that God EXPECTS it from us because it's in our nature?

Im all for forgiveness WITHIN REASON but sending a priest to death row to hear a pedophile serial killers confession so that he can go to Heaven is NOT REASONABLE.

It's many years since I came across someone like that.

If I did now and I was sure it wasn't me being a jerk or them just having a bad day,
then I think I would challenge them by saying something like:

which fruit of the spirit is that, sour grapes!

My personal opinion, is that this is surly something of darkness, trying to STOP them, from walking in the blessing/calling/wholeness, of God's plan for their life.

If we let what other's think of us, effect us, they will likely keep doing it. They might keep trying even if we stand up strong. But, know this. This is quite literally, an attack from the enemy, to try and ruin a many number of things, either their self esteem, their closeness and relationship with God, or some other area of your life.

While you have asked for other ideas other than prayer, possibly prayer might be the very best answer. Maybe a new direction to pray in, might be helpful. Maybe ask the Lord to give them such strength in this area of your life, no matter what ANYBODY says about them, they will not be able to harm you. In fact, I pray that Jesus give them such strength on this issue, they will have no problem dealing with this situation, even if this person does not end up changing.

Few years back, someone that I know told me that I was a hypocrite and she hated me. She said she didn't like to see me at all, and I told her I'm not leaving that place. She said bad things behind my back. She said, she hated it that I always smile to everyone. I was hurt and just cried to God. I was so disappointed that couldn't believe there's someone like that would hurt my feelings considering we're both Christians. I prayed, ask God to help me to forgive easily and help me to love that person. I exposed myself to lots of sermons. I read articles about forgiveness. Whenever I see that person I still smile, while God is working in me, changing me and putting so much compassion in my heart towards that person. It took a while before I felt comfortable around her. Now I give the glory to God, I was able to love that person, the Lord healed and restored my broken heart. Soli deo gloria!

I am new here and I, too, am learning how to deal with the haters in the world. I love the advice given though, to love your enemies as you love yourself.
I have a problem with our new pastor. He knows I struggle to put money in the offering yet he won't stop asking for more at every sermon. I am starting to think I can't afford to go to that church. He has a superior attitude that doesn't fit into our little country church and he refuses any offers of help that I give. I would like to give service since I cannot give more money but he has no interest in that. What would you all do? I am sorry if this doesn't belong in this category but I thought it was connected. I treat the pastor with respect, of course, but I don't leave with such a good feeling anymore.

Happens to me quite frequently here in this forum but I'll let God deal with it and keep smiling in the face of the hostility.

It seems that the main focus of your pastor is money. While money is necessary to maintain the physical facilities no one should be forced or pressured into donating. Personally, what I would do is to find a new church.

Is it just me or did your status change? You are claiming Christianity now? I was sure you had said you were unsure or not a Christian in your profile. Not really being sarcastic, just asking about the change.

Ask the Holy Spirit if there is any truth Gods truth in the heart of the matter. We are called to speak the truth in love so many Christians forget the love! Gods word says if we will not heed a rebuke we despise our own soul. Thats between you and God. I find there is such division in believers because iron is not sharpening ‚Äčiron its piercing the heart. Forgive quickly as Jesus did and let no one cause you to stumble on the path the Lord has set before you! A rebuke hurts... Its much easier received from one who seasons it with love. Be blessed sister and dont let a prideful individual effect you.

One must judge people by their fruit. If the fruit is bad the person is not of God what ever he or she claims.

There are mean people everywhere even churches. If your friend is a new believer this experience could be very detrimental to their growth. Let them know everybody belongs at church. Jesus ministered to some of the most looked down on people in that time.

Support your friend in love. Be a good example and continue to pray.

Sister in his hands,John 15:18-20 Here is what many fine believers do not realize, there hatred of you, never has to affect you! Most who do this are themselves so very unhappy in there own relationship with the Lord, that they wish for someone else to join them in there despair!

The only power someone has over you,is you giving it to them! DON"T!! Jesus did not care that others hated him,he knew this would happen and so do we! Do not allow your own feeling to guide your peace with others.( Rom 12:18) if possible! To some as we all well know it is not possible because they do not look to reason, only argue,so God gave us two feet to walk away from them as well!

Who says you have to stand there and become abused in word? It is there loss,do not make it your loss to! I remember after coming to Jesus my old pals I hung around with, would make fun of me," there goes the Jesus freak! ( 1 john 3:5-18) Your position! After many weeks of this, and seeing they could no longer push my buttons, I was walking down a street near an alley one of those pals I had came up to me, looked around and said hey man I have seen Jesus in you,I now know he is real in your life, would you pray for me? When those who would hurt you both in word and deed, find out that Jesus is truly alive in you, they do not come to the persons who mocks God, they come to the person who believes God!!

I said sure ,I would be glad to pray for you!( Matt 5:14-16!!) Darkness hates the light, and our Jesus came to live in us to bring light to a very dark city,so let him indeed do this in your life!! A Word from the Lord came to me many years after going through what some of you have! This same word is for my fine sisters in Christ to both read and yes believe in!!!( Isaiah 41:9-13!!!!!!) We are in Christ Jesus to be strong.not like others who are weak.( rom 15:1-6! In this my brothers and sisters we keep one of the greatest gifts from our Jesus!!!! LASTING HOPE!!!! ( rom 15:13!!!) God kept his own peace by choosing to look at ( Phil 4:7-8) we follow in this to keep ours to!! Blessing all!
