What God has just done is actually in my father's life and it's not complete yet. My father is unsaved. He is Catholic and believes he is saved and goes to church each week, but does not believe in the gospel the way the Bible presents it. He believes all people (atheists, Muslims, Jewish people, agnostics, etc.) go to Heaven as long as they're pretty good. He believes in praying to saints and Mary. He believes it's okay to sin sometimes (although his understanding of sin is skewed, as is his idea of forgiveness). My father doesn't want to go to a noncathohlic church because he likes the rituals associated with Catholic churches and dislikes modern worship music.

My church is nondenominational. While services have a pattern, it's not a strict "Now we will rise, now we will kneel, etc.) format. We sing modern worship songs along with some older hymns. We pray to no one but God, and believe in salvation from a Biblical standpoint. When I came home today, I told my father he should come with me some time. To my surprise, he said he'd come with me next week!

Now, my father's the type of person who might very well get to next Sunday and change his mind. However, for him to even consider going to a church other than his own shows me that God is working in his life. I wanted to testify about this, but also request prayers that God guide my father to actually go with me to church next week and that God use the sermon to guide my father to Christ.

Father God, we pray for ROSELLA's father, let you please work in his heart, and mind, and give your understanding, so he worship you in truth and spirit. yes Lord, please help him, in understanding you, and worshipping the way, you want, please bless him, and bring a change in his thoughts, so that he also able to bear witness for you, in Jesus loving name, Amen!

Update: My father went with me today! He hasn't given his life to Jesus, but I think many Christians had to hear the Gospel several times before converting. The sermon was on Heaven. It discussed what we know about Heaven, why Christians shoudl focus on Heaven, and why we should share the Gospel with others.

Afterwards, my Dad said he liked the service. He shared with me some of what he believes. I felt that, at that moment, it was important to listen respectfully instead of telling him why each thing he shared was wrong. However, I did get to share some of what the Bible says with him. For example, he was saying that he didn't agree with just saying sorry and then then continuing sinning, but that people should at least try to do better. I was able to share with him that the Bible preaches turning from sin, not empty apologies, and that the reason we need Jesus is because even when we try to do better we can't keep from sinning. He said that he was a private individual and he didn't believe God expects someone like him to speak to large groups of people about God. I was able to share with him that the Bible says that, while all are called to witness, not all are called to be pastors or preachers.

He said a few things that lead me to believe he still doesn't think that Jesus is the only way to Heaven and that the Bible is divinely inspired but not the Word of God. However, my father heard the gospel today. Doubtless he's heard it before some places, but he came to a Christian church and liked the service even if he didn't agree with everything. I don't know if my father will ever be saved but I believe God is working in my father's life and that the Lord won't stop. I know it was years before I finally got what God was trying to tell me. I praise God for getting my father there and hope that my father will eventually give his life to Jesus.

Thank you for your prayers! God works wonders and is faithful!
