First Adam and Eve did not disobey God and they did not die the day they eat the apple.
God don't expect people to be perfect;he expect them to try.
Faith is only part of life and it will not bring you salvation.
Yes, Adam and Eve did disobey God.
Genesis 2:16 says, "And the Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die."
Eve later confirms that she was given the same commandment in Genesis 3:2, "The Woman said to the serpent, 'We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it or you will die.'"
Sure enough, they fruit from that tree. Genesis 3:6, "When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it."
No, they didn't physically die that day. But God never said they would die immediately if they ate the fruit. There were spiritual deaths, since they were separated from God. And years later there were physical deaths. One good resource that discusses the matter of death in regards to this verse is as follows:

You're right. God doesn't expect humans to be perfect and He does expect them to try. However, works don't save one, and no matter how hard one tries, it's not enough because guilt is guilt. A perfect God cannot allow imperfection into His presence. It would burn the person up. Sin must be paid for. God never says that it's okay to sin, or that a certain amount of sin is okay while other sin is not. All sin is a result of turning away from God, so in a sense every sin is accompanied by at least one more. One never lies without rejecting God.
Without faith, you can only have life on Earth. Only through trusting in Jesus' sacrifice can one be saved. Ephesians 2:8, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast."
John 3:16-18, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. [SUP]
18 [/SUP]Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."
Hebrews 11:1-31," Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. [SUP]
2 [/SUP]This is what the ancients were commended for.[SUP]
3 [/SUP]By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

4 [/SUP]By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.
[SUP]
5 [/SUP]By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”[SUP]
[a][/SUP] For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. [SUP]
6[/SUP]
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

7 [/SUP]By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. [SUP]
9 [/SUP]By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. [SUP]
10 [/SUP]For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. [SUP]
11 [/SUP]And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she[SUP]
[b][/SUP] considered him faithful who had made the promise. [SUP]
12 [/SUP]And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
[SUP]
13 [/SUP]All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. [SUP]
14 [/SUP]People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. [SUP]
15 [/SUP]If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. [SUP]
16 [/SUP]Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
[SUP]
17 [/SUP]By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, [SUP]
18 [/SUP]even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”[SUP]
[c][/SUP] [SUP]
19 [/SUP]Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.
[SUP]
20 [/SUP]By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future.
[SUP]
21 [/SUP]By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.
[SUP]
22 [/SUP]By faith Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions concerning the burial of his bones.
[SUP]
23 [/SUP]By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.
[SUP]
24 [/SUP]By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. [SUP]
25 [/SUP]He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. [SUP]
26 [/SUP]He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. [SUP]
27 [/SUP]By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. [SUP]
28 [/SUP]By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.
[SUP]
29 [/SUP]By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
[SUP]
30 [/SUP]By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days.
[SUP]
31 [/SUP]By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.[SUP]
