What a topic for a testimony, aye? I bought a mower. My son set it up two days ago and we started it. He gave me all the particulars and I was set, except for the rain. Well...or not. Today, I came home to mow. Sat on the seat, set all the gears...turned the key and nothing. Not even a click. Initially I thought of the battery but rejected it. Hey, it started and it didn't appear anything was wrong. So I called my son and chatted about it. He gave suggestions. I called the dealer and talked to them. Maybe a fuse...he thought. "We're open until 8 pm. Call us back if you need." I had to pick up another part so I went to the hardware store and found the fuses. (I couldn't find the fuses on the mower, mind you. I had to investigate which fuse and to try to find the housing and whatnot to no avail). So, I get back with the fuse, call a friend. Finally, when we'd exhausted that end, I set out to call back the company. They're in a different time zone. They closed one minute prior to my call.

I finally found the fuse, got it out (no small feat), changed it, replaced the battery. Sat down and...nothing. I need to bale my lawn...it's so long. Tired I called my friend about borrowing her charger and then phoned my mechanic friend. Trying to do this on my own, you know. He's coming tomorrow.

The testimony...God is good all the time. I surmised I should have taken small engine class back in high school. I determined to check if that's in the curriculum these days...i.e. a powder puff engine repair class, if nothing else.

I am proud of how I didn't lose too much of my"cool". I did not get agitated with any sales clerks...for something they didn't do. I successfully removed AND replaced my mower's battery and got a sub for supper.

Yeah, God is good. I learned a few things. I'm tired. Maybe the old push mower needs another run? Just not tonight...

God bless! -student (who's still learning)
