Yesterday in church we sang the hymn “Is Not This the Land of Beulah”. It’s a very beautiful song. One of the verses makes the statement, “broken vows and disappointments thickly sprinkled all the way, but his spirit has lead unerring to the land I hold today.” This made me think of Hebrews 13:8. It simply says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever.” I’ve experienced disappointments in my life. I’ve had people who I considered my closest friends at the time betray me and let me down. I’m sure that there have been times in my life that I have let others down. At times, we as human beings can be pretty inconsistent. I’m thankful that Jesus is always the same. He’s never betrayed my trust, though at times I have failed to be what I should’ve been. In those times, he was always faithful to pick me up and let me give it another time. Sometimes I come so short of what I should be. I so thankful that he’s consistent in all his ways. He doesn’t stretch or bend the rules for one person or another. How we was yesterday is how he’s going to be tomorrow. He never makes mistakes, he never leads us astray, he always makes time for us, he never ignores us. He is completely trustworthy. Hope this helps someone today. God bless you all!
