I have a boss who is a really sweet man. He is sly, so I cannot read him. And if I could, my interpretation is probably off.
Either way, I am so blessed by this man. You see, I was not looking for work with him when I was given the opportunity.
But when I shared I was about to take another job, a few years ago, he said, "Had I known, I would have hired you. I'll hire you now." But I prayed and God led me another way, the needed way.

However, when I needed work again, intentionally seeking adoption into a fast-working fam, he took me in that week.

Since then, now that the novelty is gone, I have days where I want out of the intense atmosphere. (It can go from no activity, to needing the whole bench.) Well, I just need to practice the praise of what a blessing my boss is. I have met countless people who have been grateful to how he's touched their lives with his charity and compassion.

He may come across as "Mr. Cool," but he has a heart for people. And my prayer is that he softens in some areas. But part of my prayer is that I may be like him. No, not the praise or the pay. Rather, I wish to exhibit the qualities I see on and off the job-- in him.

The take-away here is,
"Lord, help me to count how he has blessed. And help me to keep praying for blessings in his personal life. Of course, Thank You for how You gave me work and someone from whom I can learn. Help me to smile in heart and on face, even when the it is tough. And help me to encourage the man, as well as the boss. After all, you love him-- both :D. In Jesus' name, your will be done. amen."

Update: I was just given a new opportunity by the boss mentioned. I attribute this to God hearing me.
Now I pray that I will be a diligent worker for God and my boss. And that I endure with thanksgiving in my heart.

don't let your guard down', you have already confessed that he is a 'sly-one', which equals???
this is a 'big negative', and you have expressed that you want to be 'like him'???

if the 'novelty' is gone, 'what is left'??? 'MONEY', etc...?

always remember that 'the wily-one' uses ways to deceive through our
immediate needs and dire circumstances; another words, when we are
most vulnerable...often this is where sneaky-sly comes in,.,
when we are at our lowest and rely on our own needs, egos, instead of our Lord...
satan, he's very 'sly' preying upon our needs and weaknesses when we are very low...
may our Heavenly Father give you discernment and courage and assurance
to follow His Holy Ways, at all times,...

you are in our prayers...to discern and to use your FAITH to do the right thing...

i thought that was so medieval. good thing we are at millenium but classically still beautiful. i pray too with you. and gives mercy because it's faith. and our spirit does moves in different ways mostly it starts at basics because the holy spirit is not a confusing spirit. and we all have our gifts from God and there's even a running spirit too but that's not mine because it's an evil spirit and i don't indulge that. but my prayers also are with you. Peace
