"Dear Jesus"

I know that you are there

My mommy needs your help
Please show me that you care.

She hits me a whole lot

And calls me bad names
I tell her that 'I love her',
But things never change.

She says 'I am a mistake'

Can this be really true?
Can you help her, Dear Jesus?
What else can I do?

I know she doesn't mean it

She's just really sad.
Or maybe it's just me
Maybe, I'm just really bad?

I try really hard

To be the best that I can be,
But trying is not enough
When your only a child of 3.

So, I come to you, Dear Jesus

Can you show me the way
And maybe, my mommy will love me
Maybe somehow, Maybe some day!

Aww..I am your fan already _Angel_!! Like this too! And yeah, so sad there are children whose parents don't love them because of their own mistakes in life...but those poor little creatures are blameless and a blessing from God after all...

I like the pic you used at the beginning because it's like I can actually see the child praying to GOD for help. This is a beautiful poem but it's sad how some children feel this way about their parents because there are some children who believe it's them whose made their parents hurt them or dislike them. This poem says alot. I like this poem. :)

Thank you, let me tell you a little something about people who write poetry ( not all, but some) Often times the poems they write has a reflection on their own lives....and yes it IS sad that children are often the victims of abuse.
