Well Hi My name is Paul and I come from Warsaw - Poland

As a child my parents took me the church and taught me how to pray
Later I started going alone becouse they were busy. When I went alone I often gone the oposite direction and meet with friends rather then attend to a Mass

At the age of 12 (or less) I learned that I have epilepsy (in the most direct way). After that event some guys at school started laughig at me and rankle me. This continued until I was 18 but I was already withdrawn and didnt want to talk to anybody. I started to look for a community group of people that would accept me A friend introduced me to his friends. However every meeting was the same i.e. Meet at the evening drink much alcohol and return in the late evening (or dawn) I knew it was wrong so I left them after a year.

I was still withdrawn and looking for someone (or something) My mother found out that in a nearby church are meetings of a community She asked me to check it out so I went there

I stood behind a column in the back and watche how everyone is praising God How everyone is 'happy' I liked them sing (cause I love music) and so I went to a meeting for new people after the main event. I learned some things about this community and went back home. Next week I went there also becouse there were asking everyone new to come next week. Again I watched them from behind a column

After the main event those who were for the second time were asked to go to the sacristy to join small groups. I was fighting myself should I go or not In the end I decided to leave and maybe return next week I didnt want to join any group. Just as I was exiting someone opened the door The guy who entered looked at me and said "Hey! I know you! You were here last week! Come I will show you to your group"
I agreed though I was a little shocked and thinking "WTF?! He remembers me?"

And so I was introduced to my group leader Ann and the rest of the guys.
Thou the squad of our group changed I am happy to be there I am happy I found this community
I am a member for 3 years now and I always try to be on the meeting couse its just like a battery recharge :)

BTW This community is a Catholic Charismatic Renewal called Woda Życia" (Water of Life) Our group patron saint is St. Dominic Savio and thats probably why I became an altar server.

Amen

Hi Paul!
Yes, it can be scary to be around new people...I used to sit in the back of the church, hoping no one would notice me. But really nice people go out-of-their way to see visitors and no one remains anonymous for long. Ha-Ha.

So happy for you!!

Its not like that
I think

Cause when you are at a Mass There is lots of people you dont know and it stays that way The diffrence is that here the people know each other and you may feel alien
However you are right about not being anonymus for long
Our leader priest Roman sometimes makes some "integration actions" He asks us to pair with the person we know least in the community Then in these pairs we share things like who am I what do I do How I got in to WAter of Life What Jesus done for me etc. In the end we pray for each other

Some guys found their "second half" this way
