Once, many years ago, I had been struggling to find work living at my parents house. I had grown very close to God. It was one of those times in my life when I truly got to see what an intimate relationship with God was. It is like being in love. Living a day around people, obviously harnessing the tongue and being truly content in all things, dwelling in the Lord. As soon as any moment would present itself, I would dodge around a corner and pray fervently "I love you so much God, thank You for being inside of me, thank You for loving me, thank You so much for being You. I just wanted to stop in and say hello and tell you again how much I love you, you are my everything. In Jesus name I pray, Amen." then I would walk back around the corner where people were, they would assume I went to the restroom or something, and I would carry on, seeking out every chance to be alone with God to pour my love to Him. It was during this time that I needed work. So I did what I was advised to do by the bible. I took it to God.
I went in my room and I closed the door and knelt facing my back wall. I said " Lord Jesus, I love you so much. Lord I really need a job and anything you say I'll do, and I will wait here until you answer me." so I knelt there, for probably a minute or two, I smiled knowing that God was amused by me and that an answer was coming. Then it came, He placed on my heart, "Help the Yoders." Now the Yoders were neighbors who had just bought the 10 acres next door, they had no house there yet, but you could see them out there digging on their driveway by hand, it was kind of swampy so they were digging out swamp to replace it with rock for the driveway. I had never met them before, I only knew there name because of my parents. So, as soon as God put on my heart "help the Yoders." I knew I had my answer, it was too late to do anything that day but I knew what I'd have it to do tomorrow. I left the room and told my mother "tomorrow after we get back from Home Depot, remind me to help the Yoders." she looked at me curiously and said "okay" The next day when we got back from Home Depot, I didn't waste a minute, I grabbed my gloves and a shovel and I walked over, there were two men working. The one man who was Mr. Yoder had very bright blue eyes, not only color bright, but you could see he had the light of God. Would you believe he was a preacher? lol I had no idea. So I'm helping them dig and about an hour or 2 into it, a black pontiac showed up and a guy in his 20's came over and seemed amused I was digging, it was Anthony Yoder, Mr Yoder's son. They immediately began talking about me, Anthony said, wow it seems you've got some good help, his father said "yes, he is a good worker." Anthony said "I don't know if you're looking for work but I just put an ad in the paper for a mason's assistant, if you want the job its yours. " I walked home smiling, knowing Gods love and guidance. I went to work that next morning. All praise and Glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
