So, I'm working on a paper for one of my classes and I got to thinking this would be an interesting topic on here. Wasn't sure where to post it but I think it would seem pretty fitting here. My paper is about how I was influenced to have the worldview I have now and what or who were my childhood inspirations. I'll summarize who I think has most shaped my view.

I have an amazing family. Unfortunately for me it took some really hard times and bad choices on my part to realize just how amazing they are. I think that my world view was formed when I was very young, but I like many others, I rebelled as a "young adult", and thankfully am now embracing what I knew in my heart was right all along. I was raised in a Christian household, but as I reached about junior high my Mom got sick and we didn't attend church near as much, as it was a struggle for her to even get out of bed. (insert prayer request here, as my parents have never made it back to church, my mom still struggles with her illness at times but I know she wants to get back to church it has just been so long). Through all of this it was my Grandmother that I watched and desired so much to be like. She was a wonderful and loving woman. Always giving when she could, volunteering at the hospital, helping out where the church need it, helping us grandkids every chance she had. In my book she was the definition of a strong Christian woman. She showed me how to see the world through God's eyes and how I was expected to behave out in the world. My only regret is I really didn't understand this or honestly make this my life until after she passed away. But I know that she smiles on me from Heaven now. She is my meter. When I come to situations in life that I'm unsure of I always stop to think about how she would have handled a similar situation. I have been lucky to have many other positive influences in my life but I think my Grandma was the biggest influence in showing me how to be "Christlike".

So please share your influences, I'd love to hear others stories!

Awesome :)

With me about the same. I do see I have a wonderful family but took some "hard times" to realize it. I too rebelled.

My Dad has been a awesome example of love to me. I think this REALLY helped me to see God truly as a "loving father" and I can truly relate to the prodigal son example in the bible.

:) I too am curious to see other stories.
