Hello people,
I'd like to share with you a little spiritual experience of mine which is about a lovely couple I know.
She's english,Gillian,married to an italian man,Franco/Frank.
They live about half hour drive from my home.
They are friends going back a long way and are christians attending the same church as my parents'.
When I was little I used to go at their house quite every saturday evening with my parents and my older brother.
During the years this friendship remained the same but as time passed we didn't go at their house as usual and so I used to meet them sometime at my parents' church.
Some day ago,after so many years, me and my family have been invited at their house for lunch.
As I entered their house after so many years I could remember all of my childhood I've spent with them there.
I remember that when I was little I used to have a look at Gillian's library full of english books and it was there where I started to grow my passion for english lol.I remember that everytime Gillian's relatives were coming at their house,I would always be invited by Gillian to stay with their relatives and try to learn english and talking with them in english lol.
I remember their love for us and their spontaneity .
Everytime we went there it was a blessing.
Her husband,Franco,is a very lovely person with a very simple heart for things.
I remember how He loved us children so much and how much love he expressed with his jokes,smiles and hugs. I remember Gillian and her english style in preparing lovely food,talking with simpleness and laughing at very simple things. I remember how good it was staying with them eating together and feeling God's blessing with us.
There have been also times where they had some financial problems because of the lack of work and even if they didn't have enough money,they were always smiling and invited us for dinner,sharing with us what they had.
I can understand now how difficult it could have been for them living with few money but I've quite always seen in them the faith of going on with God like children trusting their father...
Their faith was not about words or preaching: It was their life preaching and giving a message, a blessing over them.
Everytime Franco spoke about his spiritual experience I could feel his simpleness and could realize how blessing there is in simple hearts trsting God..
It's something of them which has always touched my heart ...
The thing that has amazed me is that this time that I went there now, I could feel the same atmosphere I remember I had when I was little...
They've remained the same: open hearted people with a simple heart for God.
As Franco started to talking about his last spiritual experience he did,I thanked God in my heart for this time spent with them.
I realized how many times I risk to get so complex in my faith, trying to reach a perfection of christian life or trying to create around me a world of christianity made of things I don't deserve... the more i listened to his simple christian experiences made of simple everyday life,the more I've realized that His life was giving me a message from the Spirit:
" ...It takes to believe and trust me... no matter what...just trust me ..."
It has been a real blessing to me and I consider them a treasure of my heart forever.
We stayed there just 4 hours,but they have been 4 blessed hours.
I Thanked God for them and for how their life is a blessing for me.
What I realized is that there are some people who are giving a real message with their life and their simpleness is a testimony of God's love and faithfulness.
Thank God for all of This.
