We have a friend, I will call Frieda, that we have known for many years, and she is a person of
real faith in the Lord Jesus. Well, she told us this account of what happened to her
family when her late mother was old and had a type of advanced cancer.
Her mother lived at home with her and was ill with cancer, but her doctor said that she still
had good body weight and was still expected to live for at least a few years. Her high-school
daughters watched over her when they were home from school. Well, one day she came home from work
and her oldest told her that something very strange happened to grandma that day and she should talk
to her right away. When she went in her mother's face seemed to have a glow to it. Her mother said that
that day she had been visited by her friend Jesus and she was going home to Heaven the next day.
Frieda did not know what to think, but didn't want her mom to die so soon, and so told her that the
next day was her birthday and she would be sad if her mom passed on her birthday. Mom said that
she would pray about it. Later mom said that Jesus said that was fine, and she would stay exactly one
week and then pass. Frieda hoped that her mom would forget it.
In a week, all of a sudden her mom died suddenly and it was a real surprise to her doctor. When she told us
this account...I told her that some people would not like this account. Why she said? and she looked hurt.
I told her that some people would say that God does not operate like in this account, but I think that they
are wrong. God does what he wants to, and I think that he does things like this often, if we believe that he can.
I still think that.
By the way, she also told me that she thinks that her oldest had seen just a small part of the interview of Jesus and mother
and that it was responsible for her daughter's growth of faith and recent things that she had done for the Lord.
