Hello! I grew up in a christian family. I was farely sheltered from many of the bad things that go on out there. I asked Jesus to come into my heart when I was 6 years old and I thought that that was all there was to it. I didn't understand the real meaning of repentence at that time. But when I was 18 God really got a hold of me and helped me to understand that, in order to follow Him, I must deny myself. I had to stop living for what I wanted to do and choose to live for His glory. It's not that I could change myself, I just had to surrender to Him and let Him change me. God can only fill an empty heart that is surrendered to Him. He doesn't share.
And so my reason for living on this planet has changed. My reason is to live for Jesus and to tell other people about Him. I'm tired of being lazy and quiet about my God who saved me from my sins and punishment in hell. If he loved me enough to lay down His life for me, then I should be willing to lay down my life and my comfort to tell others the good news. Every christian, some time in there life lives a defeited life. The devil doesn't want the message of the gospel to get out so he poures on the oppression and tries to make us useless to the kingdom. But no he shall not have the victory. We are children of God. We just need to trust in our God and what He has done and is doing for us.
Everyone is searching for a reason for existence. But they will never find it in the things of this fallen world. They must look beyond this world to the Creator who loves them. Bad things happen in this world because man brought sin into the world, and death came by sin. But Jesus came that all can be made alive through Him. - GlorifyGod
