Ok so this a working progress testimony but since July 2008 my passion has been to be a professional dancer and to work specificially within the musical theatre aspect of the performing arts business.

I'm telling you, this business isn't by any means easy, infact it's probably one of the hardest businesses ever! You've got to have determination, passion, strength, flexibility, stamina, energy, confidence. In September 2008 I started ballet and contemporary, I'd had a little bit of experience in Street dance for about a year or so but I never took it seriously. Anyway in September 2008 I wasn't able to do the splits, I was pretty far down already but not far enough. By December 2008 I was in my left leg splits fully. I have battled constantly for the past year and three months saying 'I'll never be a dancer, I'm simply not good enough and never will be'. However, God is proving me wrong! By an amazing miracle I've been given the privilege to take another BTEC course which hasn't been easy to fight for but thankfully they're paying for me £1,700 odd per year (2 years) fees and seeing as it's my hometown I've been given able to live with my auntie and uncle for free. I'm being trained by teachers who trained at Rambert and have toured with the Rambert Company, LABAN, trained by the best ballet teachers in the country.

I am three months into the course, a week tomorrow I'll return to my hometown for my second term. It's a struggle being away from my mum and sister because the longest I were ever away from my mum and dad were two week when they went to America. But I'm getting more used to it and I'm getting more independant. I'm already nearly in box splits, I'm almost in straddle splits (both of which I pretty much never even attempted before September), I can now extend my left leg almost past my head when sat on the floor. I'm doing 800 sit ups every monday and tuesday, which up until the second week of November I couldn't even do 40 without having a break.

During the last couple of weeks of term I noticed my confidence had grown and my concentration. I just hope and pray that I'll have that when I get back, 200% more than I had.

Tonight I've just done a double pirouette, if you don't know what one is it's a controlled turn...basically this (thats a ballet pirouette but we do jazz pirouettes too), I almost did a triple pirouette. Might look easy but I dare you to try a single pirouette without getting dizzy or falling over if you think it looks easy haha.

Anyway I just felt that I really should say thanks to God for what He's done so far for me :D
